For people within our church: 1) Parish Council members have organized a Parish Call List of all of our parishioners. The Council members and our Priest have divided the list and will each make a monthly phone call to three or four parishioners to ensure they are okay, to help them know they are being thought of and to ask if there is anything we can do to support them. 2) Prayer and Care Team: Two parishioners have organized a small group of members to deliver groceries and run errands for anyone in the parish needing assistance but unable to go out due to the current situation. They are also sending cards and notes of encouragement. The online prayer group at the church is focus-ing on those affected in any way by COVID-19 who are in special need of prayer.3) Our Priest has been preparing regular email communications to the parish, to keep every-one informed and connected. These communi-cations include pastoral letters and worship re-sources for home use.For others:1) One of our parishioners is live-streaming Morning Prayer on Sundays and Evening Prayer on Wednesdays on Facebook (www.facebook.-com/StColumbaWaterloo/).2) The parish is continuing its long-standing mission of support to families in need at its neighbouring elementary school. The focus at this time is on providing grocery gift cards to those families; additional support will be ar-ranged as needed going forward.

Christian, Baptist Hespeler Baptist In light of recent developments, with respect to COVID-19, we are officially replacing our Sun-day morning worship services with service recordings, until further notice. We are moving in this direction in order to protect the vulnera-ble in our midst, love our neighbour and in def-erence to the current State of Emergency in Ontario. If you are looking for hope and comfort, or all of a sudden asking life’s biggest questions, our staff would be more than willing to listen, inter-act, and look to God with you to find answers. We are desperately clinging to Jesus Christ through all of this, which changes everything. We’d love for that to be true of you too.

We provide weekly pre-recorded worship ser-vices via our Website, Facebook, YouTube. The pastor can be reached 24/7 for spiritual and practical support. A telephone tree is set up for parishioners, especially for seniors that are home bound or in self-isolation. Every two weeks there is a new project to be found in the front of the church, i.e. 'Church to Go Bags' (bags with Easter candle, prayer card, message and some treats) or colored 'Happy Rocks'. These are to pick up for everybody who stops by. We help with all kinds of requests that are coming our way. Parishioners are sewing face masks and/or quilts. Pastor does short front porch visits. First Nation, Metis, Inuit

Anishnabeg Outreach We are in the early phases of launching our ‘Spirit Bundle Offering’ of dry goods and other items to help First Nations, Metis and Inuit families and individuals. While this is at the pre-liminary stage, we are working with our donors, partners and friends to obtain a variety of items to create the bundles.

Most of the packages can be picked up (or de-livered if needed) once a month unless more supplies are required. Food is available weekly for those who need it. Pet food (cat or dog) will be available monthly. Recipients will need to contact us to have their supplies topped up. We aim to provide contactless interactions as much as possible as well as adhering to social distancing guidelines (a full moose length away). Our program launch be the latter part of the week starting April 27.

Some of the things included in the care pack-ages are cleaning supplies, traditional medicines such as cedar for tea and tobacco, Kleenex, toilet paper, activities and resources for children, reusable cloths, garbage bags, a binder of resources and other items. Donations such as bicycles for children, youth and adults, clothing and homemade face masks will be made available as they are donated to Anishn-abeg Outreach.

Included in the bundle is a coloured card sys-tem for people to use to communicate with the outside community. This has been seen on many reserves and is a way for us to support the safety and well being of First Nations, Metis and Inuit community members.
