Planning for Retirement

When I retire in the future I most likely will not factor in Social Security. I won’t

factor it into my retirement plan because it is not a significant amount of money that will

make a huge difference in my plan. I think that planning like I would not receive Social

Security each month would be beneficial because then I am more prepared for the future.

My employers plans and my personal savings will be more important to being able to live a

substantial life after retirement. The Social Security I get each month can either be for

emergencies, a cushion, or extra money to do things that I would mot be able to do with the

bare minimum amount of money.

I input that I would make $60,000 right out of college and I would want to keep a

salary of at least 75% once I retire. I did not put in the savings portion or the portion that I

would get from my employer because I did not know what those figures would be.
