The building symbolizes ‘transparency , workplace excellence and sustainability for customers’. We should aim to reflect this too.
The facade features geometric panels of deep blues and clear glass. The building looks strong.

Cian ContentHi Everybody , i have accidentally been adding my work to a unlinked page , it can now be found on the top right of the blog as Cian Murray content. Apologies
The idea of a Credit/ Debit card that also gives reward points for local shops is a great idea and is a great way to attract new customers and also promote customer retention. If we can combine this with community sponsorship like children’s sports teams it would go a long way in improving retention.
From my research into German and Irish spending habits , mortgages and banking practices i have come up with a few ideas for customer acquisition and retention which are as follows.
To attract new customers in the 18+ age bracket volksbank can set up a stall either inside or near the campuses of local colleges and schools on registration days handing out “Survival packs” which can include calculator notepad pens power bank water bottle study planner etc all of which will have their logo and contact information, if this is combined with a Bank rep with a iPad signing up customers for student accounts it would attract a lot of new customers.
As for mortgages , i have come up with the idea of parents setting up savings accounts for their children when they are young , the parents then set up a direct deposit every month for their child , so for e.g. a parent that saves €25 per week with a interest rate of 2% over a 18 year period would save €22,032 enough for a deposit with the bank . combine this with a rent to buy scheme or buy to rent scheme and the customer would be locked into the bank for their entire life.
The most important issue that needs to be addressed with Volksbank in customer acquisition and retention is the need for online banking. Customers will not stay with a regional bank if they have no way of satisfying their banking needs for e.g. mobile banking In Ireland ,Email (83%) was the most common activity carried out on the internet by individuals. The next most common activities selected were Finding information on goods and services (82%), followed by Social networking (70%) and Internet banking (64%) this is a huge amount of the population that use internet banking and it shows just how important it us as it is only 6% behind Social networking,
I believe that the above ideas combined with the leap card and local sponsorship ideas would greatly increase Volksbanks customer loyalty and retention.

Universal Bank Card- callum I had an idea, I have a student leap card and it allows me to get discounts with travel and with business like McDonald, Boots etc. my idea is that the German bank would convert there
bank cards into an Universal Bankcard, If the bank would make partnerships with business and supermarkets that Rachel said and other set ups to then have the bank users bank card get a discount, on food, travel and other things that students and other people with in the age group 18-35 would find really helpful. I attached a photo of my student leap card and it shows where I can get discounts for up to 20% off:

Business Partnerships Part 2 – Rachel Callum mentioned something interesting about the leap card partnerships, which got me thinking that Bank of Ireland have a partnership running with Supervalu the Irish supermarket. When you link your bank card with your Supervalu loyalty card you get rewards and vouchers for the supermarket, a perk from having a Bank of Ireland account.
