Create a Matisse-style picture.

Matisse was a French artist who cut out pieces of coloured paper to create his artwork. Here are some examples of his pictures.

To create your own artwork, you just cut your own shapes out of different coloured paper. If you don’t have coloured paper, you could use plain white paper and colour it in yourself.

You can cut whatever shapes you like BUT you can’t draw them first! No pencils allowed!

Once you have arranged the paper shapes how you want them, just stick them down. You can achieve some interesting effects by cutting out smaller pieces and using them to create a more complex shape, e.g. use small triangles to create a star.
