CITATION ARCHDEACON’S VISITATION 2018 To the Beneficed and Licensed Clergy, Churchwardens and Chapelwardens of the Archdeaconry of Bath Please pass this Visitation information to new Churchwardens when appointed You are warmly invited to attend my Visitation to your deanery. Bishop Peter wishes to point out that this is a mandatory requirement for all churchwardens and licensed clergy. Readers and other licensed ministers are also very welcome to attend so please would the Clergy and Churchwardens ensure that they receive an invitation My Articles of Enquiry are enclosed with this Citation. Churchwardens and Chapelwardens are asked to send their responses to my office as soon as possible, and by 23 rd March 2018 at the latest. I strongly recommend that PCC members have an opportunity to contribute to your responses. Churchwardens are most welcome to meet with me and to discuss any issues, although for conversations about something specific which would need longer than 5-10 minutes, a separate appointment is advisable and can be arranged if you would like to ring my office. Clergy and Churchwardens are requested to attend their own deanery venue, but if prevented from so doing, they may attend another deanery service. If a Churchwarden is unable to attend any of the above services, please contact me.

ORDER OF PROCEEDINGS5.30 to 6.50pm(Light refreshments will be served)

On arrival, Clergy and Churchwardens are asked to report to their Rural Dean andLay Chair. Churchwardens will be asked to sign their Forms of Declaration, which they should bring with them. The Archdeacon will be available to see Churchwardens.

7pm The Visitation service at which Churchwardens will make their declaration and be admitted into office. During the service the Archdeacon will give his Charge.

8.00pm onwards The Archdeacon will be available to see Churchwardens after the service for short meetings.
