(John 10:22-26) Then came the Feast of Dedication at Jerusalem. It was winter, 23 and Jesus was in the temple area walking in Solomon's Colonnade. 24 The Jews gathered around him, saying, "How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly." 25 Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. The next week, we learned from the example of Jesus Himself that Hope also

needs to L_______________.

(John 10:27) My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

And last week, we looked at the needed response to Believing and Listening….and that is, that HOPE NEEDS TO D________!

Some people have even confused DOING for God with believing in God.

(Matthew 7:21-23) "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven 22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you.'

(John 14:1-4) "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going."

Jesus tells them, that this new dynamic will be better than what they’re experiencing now.

(John 14:16-21) I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor (in other words, someone like me) to be with you forever— 17 [He’s] the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him , for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."

(v. 23) "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

(vv. 25-27) 25 "All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

The thing is, this morning, as you look at these 3 circles, you know where you’re at.

(John 10:14-17) 14 "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father — and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.

So, what do you hear Jesus saying to you… Write that down. And decide when in the week you will do this.
