The Christmas Carol of Luke: Week 1 Questions and Notes

- What is Zechariah fundamentally oriented to?

- What is Mary fundamentally oriented to?

- What am I fundamentally oriented to?  How do I measure things and people in this life?

Zechariah's outlook seems to be, "if this is all there is to life, then this must be all I can expect from God!" - How do I let my circumstances, and my inability in those circumstances define God and my life?

For Mary, God's Word gives definition to her circumstances.- What can I change today, as I trust God's Word to define my life, and not my circumstances?

-What must I change today, as I trust that God's Word has greater validity than my fears, my inability, my opinion, my bitterness?

- What will I change today to recognize that God, by His Word, is having His way in spite of the politics and 'king of the hill' games going on all around us?

Read the remainder of Luke 1, in preparation for next week.
