Sharing: The public rooms of the house include the kitchen, dining room, living room, full bath upstairs and half bath on the main floor. You share these rooms with your host and the other guests.Recycling: Most everything can be recycled. Kitchen scraps and muffin papers, no bones or meat, in container to right of sink. Put cans and bottles on little shelf in kitchen. Paper and cardboard in basket under iron rack in dining room.Dishes: Put dirty dishes in the left side of the kit. sink in the big bowl.The Cat: Spanky loves people and is allowed inside or outside at any time. If he is in at night, door at bottom of stairs is to be closed to keep him downstairs. If you think you are the last one in at night, please check this.The Other Rules: You may use the fridge or freezer to store your food, within reason. Please don’t drag your wheeled luggage across the deck or the hard floors in the house. Turn out lights when not in use, even if you did not turn them on. Leave bath lights off and the doors ajar when unoccupied.Leave back porch and kitchen table light on for ‘night lights.’

Now that you have arrived, here is information and some tips to

make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable.

Welcome! Payment: We accept cash, check, Paypal (direct), Square CASH or PopMoney, only.Keys: You will be given two keys, one to your room & one that fits the lower back door lock. Back door key is color coded same as the color of your key ring. Please locate and return your key set BEFORE you pack to leave.Parking: Park along the south side of the house on Highland Ave. You will be given a guest parking permit. Smoking: There is no smoking in the house or on the property at any time. No exceptions. We don’t cater to smokers.Transportation: We will pick you up or drop you off at Skagit Station for free, when arriving via Amtrak train. (Train only, not bus.)Garden/deck/patio: This area is for you to use. The cushions for the seats are in the north (left) deck box.Bedding: We do not change your bedding or clean your room during your stay. You may get fresh towels as needed; just drop your used ones down the laundry chute in upper hall.Privacy: We never enter your room during your stay. Lock it and no else will either.

Wi-Fi: Available throughout the house and garden: HIGHLANDWIFI. Key: 319evergreenHeat: The house has one place, in the dining room, where the temperature is controlled, with registers to every room. Open your room register to get more heat. Extra blankets are also in your walk-in closet. Thermostat is auto-set up at 6 AM and down at 10 PM.Food: We put out a Continental style breakfast between 7 and 9 AM. The hot offerings are also made during that time. No hot food is made in advance. If you want eggs, toast, omelets, pancakes or French toast, please ask. Regular freshly ground coffee is brewed by 6:00 AM. Tea selection and the white hot kettle can be used at any time.Bath: Bath caddys are in your room; bath towels, hand towels and washcloths are in the linen closet in the upper hall between bath and South Room.Check-in/Check-out: You may check-in between 3 and 8 PM.
