My Most Important Thing . . My most important thing is my best friend Abby. We have been friends for almost four years, and she was my classmate in high school. The first day at school, we were desk mates, and we both felt a little nervous on the first school day, so we began to chat with each other and learned a little more about each other. Sometime later, whenever she and I were together, our classmates and teacher said we looked like each other. It surprised us, but after we heard that for a long time, whenever people said that to us again, we just smiled. Gradually, we got to know each other a lot. Then we became good friends and ate lunch together. Now, in my opinion, she has already become my family member. When I was in China, Abby used to come to my house and cook food for me, and we Personal photo of Layla at Lake Merritt did homework together. During the weekends, we would go shopping, watch movies, and eat fast food. We always left home at 10 o’clock A.M., and come back home at 8 o’clock P.M., and we still thought we hadn’t done everything yet. So, even if we had a lot of homework to do on the weekends, we would go out and play three times a month. After we went to college last year, we didn’t have much time to go out, so we would talk with each other on the phone or chat online. Sometimes, we could talk with each other for over one hour.

My Most Important Thing..

When I was in China, Abby used to come to my house and cook food for me, and we Personal photo of Layla at Lake Merritt

did homework together. After we went to college last year, we didn’t have much time to go out, so we would talk

with each other on the phone or chat online. Sometimes, we could talk with each other for over one hour.

Even though I now stay in America and she lives in China, we always talk with each other on Skype because, in that way, we can see each other on the video. Also, sometimes we use traditional ways to keep in touch, like sending a letter or a postcard.

In my opinion, even though we are now in different places, we can also support each other and chat with each other. Maybe it is just like the American saying: “Absence makes
