III. God’s Gift of Living Water (John 4:10-15) A. The Old Testament uses the illustration of “living water” to describe the spiritual

cleansing and new life that comes at salvation through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. 

B. We see this most clearly in Ezekiel 36: 25-27.  C. Read ahead to John 7:37-39.

IV. Foundations of Evangelism (John 4:16-18)  A. Acknowledging our sin  B. Filling the longing in our hearts for God’s love

V. True Worship (John 4:19-26)  A. Our first, or main question should never be, “How was church today?” The most important question should be, “Did I glorify God?”  B. God is not _________ on whether we worship or not.  C. God is not _________ on who we worship.  D. God is seeking those who worship Him in _________ and _________.  E. Worship in Truth is grounded in God’s Word – it’s gospel focused. (sin, atonement, forgiveness, grace)  F. Worship in Spirit is Christ-centered. (devotion, adoration, alive)

• The power of the gospel is far beyond the eloquence of my speech or the cleverness of my thoughts. While some of us will sow, some will water, and others will reap…it is God who causes the growth. 

• God is looking for true worshipers – those to worship Him in truth and spirit. Is God looking for you? 

• Faith occurs in the space between the promise given and the promise received.
