A gift reflects personality, resources, commitment, thoughtfulness and sacrifice. Ultimately it is an expression of love. When God gave us Jesus, it truly reflected God’s great love for every home in the world.

Definition of a gift - a thing given willingly to someone without payment.

What does a gift say about the giver? What does a gift say about the receiver?

Text: Luke 2:1-17 1. God’s gift is for all.

Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. – Luke 2:10,11 (NKJV)

 2. God’s gift is peace.

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” – Luke 2:14 (NKJV) Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. – John 14:27 (NKJV)

3. God’s gift needs to be received. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it. – Luke 18:17 (NLT) 4. God’s gift must be shared. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. – Luke 2:17,18 (NIV)
