Rationale:

The content of this task addresses the language portion of the course. This

will be relayed in an infographic that shows the relationship between the various

types of media and their change over time. Another aspect of this task will be to

show the specific messages each form of media tries to convey, through written text.

This will be accomplished by short explanations of the various forms of media. The

visual aspect of this text allows the reader to have a better concept of how one form

of media gave rise to another. The branching arms of the graphic illustrate the

evolution of media and serve as a guideline for the path of the reader’s eye.

Something else to mention about the layout of the text is that it is meant to be read

from the bottom up symbolizing the growth of media.

The nature of this task is in the form of an infographic, I found this a fitting

text because it is a form of modern media. By using an infographic, I am also able to

convey the message of this text in a method other than language. People who would

benefit from this text would be those interested in learning about the history of

media. The text’s purpose is to be an informative display of information that utilizes

both graphics and text to convey the message to a modern audience. This is

specifically aimed at a modern audience because the infographic arose out of the

information age and people in the modern era would be much more familiar with its

layout.
