Draw the sign of the cross through your name to remind yourself that your baptism connects your name to Christ and makes it a Christian name. 2) The upper left hand corner becomes your relationship corner so put down the names of those people who are in the closest relationship with you, this is usually family, but could be anyone that you are in close relationship with. 3) In the lower left hand corner write your address, include city state and country. This becomes your neighborhood corner and this reminds you of the community that you are dependent upon and the community that depends on you. 4) In the upper right hand list where you work and any organizations you belong to, this then becomes your work and association corner this is the place you would want to put your church. 5) In the lower right hand corner list the things you are involved in to make creation better or safer, this then becomes your creation corner. 6) Now draw a double arrow that connects each of your corners to your name. Your “Calling” CardWhen you meet someone for the first time they often ask you

if you have a card. These used to be known as your calling

card. It identified you gave you a place, contact information

and outlined what you did. To your left is a card that can become

your Christian “Calling” Card. Here is how to use it:

1) Take a business size card and the Middle of the car 2)3)

1) Take a business size card and in the middle of the card write your First name. This reminds us that each of these areas of our life places demands on use and we place demands on them. Now this is how this card will become your weekly “CALLING” card. As you participate in worship on Sunday ask yourself this question, what is God calling me to do or be in one or more of these corners of my calling card of my life. This then becomes your mission your Christian vocation (calling) for the week. Are there relationships you need to attend to or celebrate? What about your neighborhood, local, state, national or international is God calling to be involved in in some way? Are their things or people at work or in your association that God is calling you to pay attention to? What about God’s creation is there a mission there for you? Once you have developed a mission in one or more of these areas of the calling card make a commitment to fulfill that mission in the week or in a specified time. The council has adopted these missions1. Develop more Renew Projects and God’s Work Our Hands2. Provide New worship opportunities3. Develop ways of Mentoring community youth Involve a new generation4. Develop Small Group ministries

Be sure to offer support and ideas to the council on these areas and most important get involved in the implementation. Have you hugged a council member this week?

Reminder:

Health and Wellness Sunday is the third Sunday of each month.

Mary Leach or one of our many parish nurses will be on hand before and after worship on these Sundays to check blood pressures, blood sugars, and help you form questions for your health professional should you have need.

The Bibles & Bagels group will meet on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 9:30 am. At Edinger’s Filling Station. Any woman who would like to attend an informal bible study is welcome to come to this meeting.

Want to be an EME? That is an Extraordinary Minister of The Eucharist. Since Pastor Wayne is only ¾ time, he could use help taking communion to shut-ins he would like 3-6 people to volunteer to take communion on Sundays after church to our shut-ins. You will be provided with a communion liturgy and a communion kit. Also if you could write down the names of people you think might benefit from this ministry and give it to Pastor Wayne, this would be much appreciated.

The Rebecca Circle will meet on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 1:30 pm in the fellowship hall. The hostess will be Ginger Bauknecht. The lesson “The Paradoxes of Prayer” will be given by Donna Buckler. In prayer, we call upon a God who may respond in unexpected ways. Mil Girard will lead in devotions, and Jeanne Rapp will be giving the offering meditation. If you would like to join us for this time of fellowship and Bible study, we would invite you to join us at this meeting.

The ladies of the Rebecca Circle will be furnishing homemade pies on Thursday, June 7th, at 11:30 am for the residents of The Pointe, which is the assisted living home next door to our church. We have done this several times, and the residents really enjoy it, and are looking forward to us coming on June 7th.

In an effort to keep our prayer list up to date and to allow Pastor Wayne to make visits, there are new prayer request forms in the Church office. You may still contact Angie by phone or e-mail with prayer requests.

Update on TV Monitor ProjectSince our present screen set up does not provide adequate viewing of videos and text due to the overwhelming amount of natural light that we have in the sanctuary, we have recently tried TV monitors during worship. The council is recommending moving ahead on the project of placing two monitors on the front sanctuary walls and one in the back for the Pastor to view in an attempt to create a more visible viewing from both sides of the sanctuary. Our mission proposal has $1000 dedicated to the project with the hope the remaining amount to be through private gifts. Please pray about how God might lead you to help with this important addition to our worship space. If you are interested, please put a memo on your check that reads “TV monitor project”, place it in the offering and it will be added to your yearly church donations. The council hopes that this project can be fully funded by September 30. The following details the estimated expenses:TV monitor 65”(front) $598 each $1196TV monitor 55” (back) $259 $ 259TV bracket 55” $ 27 $ 27TV brackets 65” $ 95 each $ 190Bennett hardwire system $1572Subtotal $3244Minus Mission proposal monies -$1000Total needed to complete project $2244Thank you in advance for helping to make our worship more meaningful by helping with this important project!
