Dear reader,
What a coincidence: two news items on Singapore are included in this week’s newsletter. While Michelman has invested in additional production equipment at its Singapore manufacturing facility in order to meet the demands of its fast growing Asian markets, Brenntag has signed an agreement to acquire TAT Group, a Singapore based distributor for industrial chemicals.

Nanotechnology: State of affairs?
I haven’t heard anything significant on nanotechnology lately. Neither in the news nor in publications. Probably because there have been so many other topics to be discussed. Remember the times when TV programs or consumer magazines reported on nanoparticles in suntan lotion or cosmeticslearned that due to negative public opinion towards nanotechnology, companies stopped or reduced research and development in this area, or changed obvious brand names, thereby omitting the word "nano”. more
