Being God’s People in God’s World: Living the Sacrificial Life –Giving Freely; Serving Fully: Living Faithfully

PRAYER FOR TODAYGod of mercy, forgive our sin.

You free us to be followers of Jesus, but too often we chain ourselves to other ways

and forget our calling;too often we destroy the peace you give,

by unthinking and uncaring acts; too often we spurn the love you show

and deny love to others;too often we fall-silent before injustice

and compromise ideals; too often we want to be Lord of all our days

and reject the sacrifice of will and life.Forgive us, we pray,

in the name of Jesus, Christ our Lord.[from : Seasons & Celebrations]

SCRIPTURE READING [OT] Genesis 22: 1-19

HYMN OF MEDITATION - No. 2 - O Master, let me walk with Thee

1. O Master, let me walk with Thee 3. Teach me Thy patience; still with Thee In lowly paths of service free; In closer, dearer company Tell me Thy secret, help me bear In work that keeps faith sweet and strong The strain of toil, the fret of care. In trust that triumphs over wrong

2. Help me the slow of heart to move 4. In hope that sends a shining ray By some clear, winning word of love; Far down the future's broad'ning way Teach me the wayward feet to stay, In peace that only Thou canst give, And guide them in the homeward way. With Thee, O Master, let me live.
