DESCRIPTION

Webb's Brochure June

TRANSCRIPT

Webb’s winter season opens in August with a selection of quality auctions. Historically, one of the most buoyant seasons in the calendar, the winter auctions will present the finest artworks and most superior collectables available to the market. Webb’s team of experts is available to discuss current market conditions and to provide up-to-date valuations. Specialists will be visiting the main centres of New Zealand to appraise pieces in anticipation of these forthcoming auctions.

In line with international trends, demand for the truly elite was demonstrated over 2010 and in the first half of 2011. Numerous auction records were achieved for artworks, jewellery, wine and industrial design. Overall, the Webb’s 2010/11 financial year saw a 15% increase in gross turnover against the previous year with all specialist departments achieving significant success.

Whether in the supply of professional marketing services or in assisting with the acquisition of works, we look forward to working with you over the coming season.

Exhibition: Alfred GregoryFrom Everest To Blackpool

In 1953 Alfred Gregory was chief photographer with the triumphant team that took Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay to the summit of Everest, taking spectacular photographs that record the human struggle to conquer the Himalaya and the once-pristine beauty of the world’s highest mountain.

With epic landscapes, iconic imagery and a sense of breathtaking beauty, Alfred Gregory - from Everest to Blackpool captures those short-lived moments when ordinary people, objects and places become extraordinary.
