• Visualise webinar, do a rehearsal, test technology
• Plan in detail in background
• Visuals, interactivity
• Not too long – present 30 min., break for questions, continue
• Keep to the time – people can join without interruption
• Opening slide to welcome early arrivals

• Presentation in pdf – also Word docs etc.
• Avoid detailed content – too small to see
• Duration: not longer than an hour – leave time for questions
• Encourage participants to post questions in chat box, communicate technical problems etc.
• Ask consent from speaker/presenter to record, to make presentation online available afterwards (CC)

• Quiet room
• Presenter – glass of water
• Difficult to sense and read audience – encourage interactivity & feedback
• Practice technology
• Use tools on BBB (only presenter can see)
• Tell audience what you will be doing
• Typed questions: repeat and read out loud
• Turn off all phones and dogs (and cats )

• Graphics better than text
• Slide movement every 20-40 seconds to keep audience interested
• Use keywords only
• Same rules apply as in presentation in person
• Turn webcam off to save on bandwidth
• Monitor that microphones of participants turned off while presenter presents
• Be very, very clear
