The Opportunity Matching Profile is used to notify you of newly posted opportunities that match your business interests (keywords). It is a saved search that you create (through the Opportunity Matching function). The MERX search engine will check every day to see if there are new opportunities posted that match your criteria and send you a list via email. This function searches based on your keywords through all the Opportunity Abstracts found on MERX. If you prefer, you can "run" your saved search profile once you've logged into your account to view the list of matching opportunities in addition to receiving the email notifications.

• KISS Keep It Simple Supplier! Less is more!

• TEST your profiles

• Read through the opportunity notice abstracts to make sure it’s what you want

• Always perform an advanced search to complement the results

• Consider additional profiles (up to 9) if you sell other products or services

• Look for additional keyword ideas in the Awards & Closed databases

• Consider using Keywords + only ONE section + Refine Search

• Review your criteria and occasionally modify search terms

• Try an asterisk * as a “wildcard” or try words without an * as well

• Use (parentheses) when using both the “AND” and “OR” in your keywords

• Avoid being too specific

• Avoid using abbreviations or short forms

• Use a Thesaurus for other words
