Overview

Sippo WebRTC Application Controller, WAC, is a solution that allowsenterprises and service providers to deploy WebRTC applications fully-interconnected with their existing services (AD, OSS, BSS, etc.) andlegacy VoIP or UC systems.

Sippo WAC in combination with its APIs, supports a large number ofbusiness cases , ranging from a simple click-to-dial button to advancedscenarios like RCS-based services, integration with existing Webportals (including Facebook, Twitter or Gmail), Banking, Health,Logistics, call centers/CRMs, UC, etc.

Thanks to its abstraction layer (Sippo.js) the Sippo WAC can includenew signaling modules rapidly or even use different signalingprotocols within the same application (e.g. one signaling protocol foraudio/video, another for IM/presence, etc.).

Sippo WAC is the right tool to develop, adapt or deploy any WebRTCtool in a telco network or corporate architecture, with the security that itis going to be interoperable with the existing services and WebRTCgateways. In addition, it provides features to manage user provisioning, call details records and contextual information.

Enterprise and Telco integration

The Sippo WebRTC Application Controller provides a communicationlink with the WebRTC clients for data exchange, status, monitoring andadvanced collaboration tools, but also provides other interfaces: AService API (S-API) that could be consumed by the corporate or telconetwork (CDRs, Provisioning, etc), and Sippo Connectors to federateauthentication or consume exposed services. In addition, acommunication channel is established with the WebRTC gateway toprovide secure token authentication methods and maintain sessiontraceability.

Key features:

- Orcherstrate all features related with unified communications like audio and video calls, advance instant messaging, contact lists, etc.

- Thanks to its abstraction layer, (SippoJS), the Sippo WAC hides the complexities of WebRTC itself allowing new applications or extensions to be developed on top of that.

- Implements all the necessary abstractions in order to transparently accommodate changes or specifics at the underlying WebRTC W3C API level (browser implementations , current discussions regarding WebRTC 2.0 API, ad-hoc implementations by browser vendors).

- Sippo WAC is standards compliant and has been designed and developed by engineers who participate in WebRTC standardization bodies like W3C, IETF, 3GPP, SIPForum and GSMA.

- Create your business own case combining the Sippo modules.

- From simple chat solutions to a whole collaboration tool for companies .

Internal architecture

Sippo Abstraction Layer is part of Sippo WAC. This abstraction layerhelps to hide all the complexity behind the different implementations ofWebRTC by web browsers and supports all the signaling protocols, soapplications can work with any WebRTC gateway vendor.

SippoJS is an orca.js compatible javascript API that allows third partiesto develop applications in the Sippo ecosystem taking advantage of allthe functionalities that the WAC provides.

In addition, the Sippo WAC exposes a service API (S-API) to manageservices like authentication, accounting, user privileges, userprovisioning, contact management, scheduled meetings, security andreporting information. This interface makes possible to connect third-party elements (HSS, BSS, OSS, etc.) to make possible to extendexisting telco solutions to the web.

Both SippoJS and the Sippo WAC S-API are fully documented andaccessible for partners and customer and bring the right tool to successin the real field deployments of WebRTC.
