Dear Nzusians
Warm Greetings from Meerut
At the very outset I wish to express my thanks and gratitude for
choosing me to head this organization of ours for the year 2018 -
2019.
I feel humbled as I see the illustrious personalities who have
adorned this post and shall try my best to maintain the legacy
created by them.
I wish all members and their loved ones a very contended, peaceful and satisfying
2019. December and January are joyous months and a time for celebrations. I am sure
our members shall make the most of these festive times.
As we step into 2019, we have the 52nd USICON at Bhubaneswar. A special meeting
for us; as our very own, Dr M S Agarwal takes over as President USI and under his
stewardship expect USI to soar higher.
2019 has a unique line up of midterm meetings. Starting with 'Food for Mind, Body and
Soul' at Dehradun; viewing tigers at Ranthambore as we dwell on 'Medico Legal'
matters and continuing our outreach program with neighboring countries, the 'Indo
Bhutan Urology Conclave' at Thimpu featuring the under discussed ' Para Urology'.
The year ends with our show stopper - 29th NZUSICON at Greater Noida. The council
has taken note of the constructive criticism of our NZUSICONs and intends to take
path breaking decisions to satisfy the evolving needs of our members.
I look forward to working with our President Elect, Dr Amlesh Seth; first ever Secretary
Elect, Dr Anup Kumar; dashing treasurer, Dr Vijay Bora. I am privileged to have such an
energetic and open minded secretary like Dr Shivam Priyadarshi and a very supportive
council to help run the society as per expectations of our members.
I would like to draw the attention of our members to our friend as well as foe -
Radiation. Radiation is immensely helpful both for diagnosis and treatment and
without it we shall be severely handicapped. However at the same time, radiation is a
mammoth risk to our health and well being. We need not be as naive as Marie Curie,
who carried radioactive material in her coat pockets and marveled that they glowed in
the darkness. Even the famous actor of yesterdays - John Wayne and crew of the movie
'The Conqueror' perished due to exposure from atomic tests conducted 100 miles
away from their shooting site in USA. We need to conform to standards set by AERB
and rigorously wear shielding and our dosimeters. Regular checking of the shielding
and periodic review of the dosimeter is as essential as anything else.
I once again wish all members a Very Happy New Year and look forward to hearing
from you and meeting most of you at our forthcoming events.
Jai Hind.

Hon Secretary's Message
Dear Members,
The end of year 2018 brings an end to my first innings as the secretary. With the three mid term
CUEs , Indo Mauratian conclave and the Annual conference in Ludhiana, we tried in best of our
abilities to make the meetings as interesting and enlightening as possible. I take the responsibility of
the shortcomings and assure you to take all measures to mend them in the future meetings.
Please send your suggestions and ideas to make the meetings more fruitful and our zone even more
active and vibrant.
Our next three mid term CUE meetings are in Dehradun( April 6-7th) Ranthambore (May 26-27th) and Bhutan (4-
8th October) and the Annual meeting in Greater Noida( 15-17th Nov. ).
I acknowledge with heartfelt gratitude the elder brotherly love and guidance of our past president Dr. S P Yadav ,
the immense support and cooperation of our outgoing treasurer Dr. Subhash Yadav and the council members Dr.
Sankhwar & Dr. Sanwal.
I welcome with love and good wishes our President elect Dr. Amlesh Seth, Secretary elect Dr. Anup Gupta, Treasurer
Dr. Vora and the council members Dr. P. P. Singh and Dr. Swapan Sood. I am sure with our new council and extra
