Dear Parents and Students
Revised Newsletter format: We hope staff and parents enjoy the new
format for this Newsletter. We trust
the information it contains is easy to
read in the ‘cleaner’ format.
A n z a c D a y S e r v i c e : Congratulations to all the students
who took part in last week’s
ANZAC Day Service. It was a
moving experience for us all as we
remember those who fought for our
nation. Thank you to Honourable
Lisa Baker who attended the service
and presented the school with a
book on the ANZACs. Photos of
the service may be viewed on the
front page of the website.
Building Education Revolution
Project: It gives me great pleasure to inform the community that our
new library, meeting room, senior
toilets, under covered area, canteen
and junior toilet blocks have been
a pp roved b y t h e Fed e r a l
Government. The contract has been
signed by the Catholic Education
Office and Cooktown Constructions
and the project will commence over
the next four weeks. Plans of the
buildings will be uploaded to the
front page of the school’s website
early next week, for those of you
who would like to view them.
Change to the Planner: Due to
unforeseen circumstances, the Year
3 Assembly has been rescheduled to
Friday, 21st May, commencing at
2.15 p.m. (early start), with the
Years 2 & 3 each presenting their
items on the same day. Please make
the adjustment to the Term planner -
I apologise for the inconvenience.
School Disco: Thank you to the P&F who have coordinated the
disco this Friday evening in the
parish hall. The Pre-Kindy and Pre-
Primary Disco will be held at 5.00-
6.00 p.m. The Junior Disco for
Years 1-3 will be held between 6.15
and 7.15 p.m. and the Senior Disco
will take place between 7.30 and
9.00 p.m. for Years 4-6. Looking
forward to seeing you all there.
Dispute settlement: This week you will receive a copy of ‘How to
deal with a dispute or a complaint in
a Catholic School’. This is an
important document, set in
agreement with the West Australian
State Government requirements.
In a Catholic School, Pastoral Care
is very important when dealing with
any issue. Respect, courtesy,
confidentiality, and fairness for all
parties involved is essential. I am
always pleased to speak with parents
about any concerns, but please bear
in mind that the first port of call in
any situation is the classroom
teacher. In the majority of the cases,
the classroom teachers are able to
deal with the issues at hand and
support all parties.
