Tumblr?

Why did I choose Tumblr as my host website?

I chose Tumblr as my host website as I am already quite familiar with the website, I know quite a lot about the coding and I am able to create my own theme/layout.

Colour scheme?

Why did I choose the black/orange/red (dark warm) colour scheme?

I chose this colour scheme as I think that it represents the restaurant. The restaurant is supposed to be really cozy and classy at the same time, and I think the colours really represent this.

Font?

Why did I choose the font?

I decided to use baskerville and courier new. This also due to the cozy yet classy feel I am trying to get. The baskerville font is very simple and classy, I used this font for my title. It is very simple and suits the restaurant nicely. I chose courier new as this is kind of edgy, and emphasizes the cozy feeling I am trying to portray.

iPhoto?

Why did I choose iPhoto to edit my photos?

Truth be told, I have never used iPhoto ever. Everyone has told me that iPhoto is the easiest way to develop new editing skills, therefore I chose to use iPhoto. Before I did, I went on youtube, and I found some videos on how to edit your photos using this software. I used iPhoto to give all my photos an orange/glowing tint.

Food photos?

I found that most restaurants have food blogs. I think that this is a good way for the customer to know exactly what is on the menu, and visitors who click on the blog will look at the appealing food photos and be like: yes, this is the restaurant I want to go to. I think this is a very good way of raising awareness for the restaurant, and yet it also develops my technical skills.

Photo Colour scheme?

I decided to give all my food a brown/orange looking tint and it really sets the cozy feel of the restaurant. I think that this makes the food look more appealing, and in a food business, you need to make sure the photos of your food are appealing otherwise customers will not want to eat at your restaurant. I gave the food a warm feel, in my opinion it looks appealing, and hopefully customers will feel the same.

Navigation

I decided to give all my pages a link of their own. Example: on my website there is a link to contact the person, a link to the official website, and a link to the view all the photos (archive). I did this because the links are quite big, so the customers will find it easy to navigate. Plus then they are able to choose what type of information they want to view.

Layout?

I created my own theme. I gave this theme 1 column, and an endless scroll. I put the links at the top. I gave the theme 1 column because it is easy for the viewer to scroll through. I also put the links at the top so that the viewers know what exactly is on the website, and it will be easy for them to click it.
