provided on request.
Online (self-paced) learning (Supported by face to face/study support provided on request)
Online (self-paced) learning allows students to start a course when and where it is convenient for
them to study. Online learning is particularly popular with stay-at-home parents, full time
employees, or anyone seeking maximum flexibility. Students will be well supported throughout their
course by Efit Academy’s dedicated online education support team, available both over the phone,
via email or Skype. Our online education support team are experts in their subject field. While it is
the responsibility of the student to have a genuine attempt at reading the course material (or a
relevant section) prior to accessing the support service, our dedicated online support team are more
than happy to help clarify any questions related to subject matter, concepts, practical applications or
assessments.
Each student choosing to complete courses in an online format will be assigned to a specific
trainer upon their enrolment. Trainers can be contacted via phone or email.
Course notes (PDF), suggested readings and hard copy text books (if applicable) are sent to
students upon receipt of full payment of course fees.
Students will be notified of their competency result within 14 days of the receipt of submitted
assessments, however generally they are marked quicker (usually within 3-5 business days). Efit
Academy prides itself on providing timely and comprehensive student feedback on assessments.
We tell students what they got right, but also provide feedback on areas for improvement.
Students consistently tell us they appreciate that approach.
Each student is issued a username and password to Efit Academy’s online assessment system. All
assessments are completed online. Multiple choice questions are marked instantly. Short answer

Academy’s instructors is unable to complete a course, and Efit Academy is unable to obtain a
suitable replacement, it will arrange for training and assessment to be completed through another
RTO at no additional cost to the student. Prior to any transfer to another RTO, affected students will
be formally notified of the arrangements.
Training Plans
The Training Plan provides detailed information on training and assessment agreed to by a Efit
Academy and a student. This information ensures that all parties are making informed decisions
about the services required and the respective obligations in the delivery of these services.
A Training Plan provides details of the arrangements and underpins the Training Contract. It is an
important document that Efit Academy and the student must sign and follow. This document also
provides a record of intent and progress during the delivery and assessment of a
course/qualification.
The completion, maintenance and management of a Training Plan is a compliance requirement and
the RTO regulating and funding bodies require an RTO to report the information recorded in a
Training Plan document.
A Training Plan document includes the following types of information:
Name and details of the RTO and the student
Code and title of the qualification the student is undertaking and/or is part of an approved or
funded training scheme
Competencies to be obtained
Scheduled hours for competencies to be obtained
Timeframe for achieving competencies
Delivery modes to be used
Detailed training activities and responsibilities for training to be undertaken as part of any
workplace based training arrangements
Assessment details and arrangements
Party/ies responsible for the delivery and/or assessment of each competency
Record for Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer where granted
Signatures (including date of signature) of the student and the RTO

recording and reporting requirements.
To establish, monitor, manage and report your training and assessment activities, Efit Academy will
issue you a Training Plan document which will need to be signed off by yourself and a Efit Academy
Course Consultant. The training plan will be emailed to students as part of the enrolment process.
The training plan will outline the units of competency in which the student is enrolled, completion
timeliness and other types of important information that you need to know about the progression
and completion of your course/qualification.
Amendments to the training plan document will need to be done in consultation with both parties
and will also be done on a case by case basis.
The dates for completion of each unit of competency on the training plan will provide you the
completion timelines for each module/unit of competency.
Course Duration
Efit Academy has set out timeframes for achieving competencies for students depending on their
funding source. Government funded students are given a 12 month timeframe to achieve
competencies as Government funding comes with more stringent eligibility, participation and
completion requirements.
Fee for service (self funding) students are given up to a maximum of 24 months to achieve
competency as they are self-funding their own training and assessment.

Some students undertaking courses with Efit Academy will be eligible to receive funding under the
Victorian Training Guarantee. This is referred to as a ‘Government Funded’ course. Students not
eligible for this funding are referred to as ‘Fee for Service’ students.

Cheating And Plagiarism
Assessment is considered an important demonstration of a student’s development throughout their
course. Any form of plagiarism or cheating in an assessment will be considered a most serious
violation of Efit Academy’s code of conduct.
Definition Of Cheating
‘Cheating’ is defined as obtaining, attempting to obtain, or aiding another to obtain credit for work,
by any dishonest or deceptive means. Cheating includes, but is not limited to: lying; copying from
another's test or examination; discussion, at any time, of answers or questions on an examination or
test, unless such discussion is specifically authorised by the instructor; taking or receiving copies of
an exam without the permission of the instructor; using or displaying notes, "cheat sheets," or other
information devices inappropriate to the prescribed test conditions; allowing someone other than
the officially enrolled student to represent that student in any form of evaluation.
Definition Of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is defined as the act of using the ideas or work of another person or persons as if they
were their own, without giving proper credit to the source. It is not plagiarism if it is determined that
the ideas were arrived at through independent reasoning or logic, or where the thought or idea is
common knowledge. Acknowledgement of an original author or source must be made through
appropriate references; i.e., quotation marks, footnotes, or commentary.
Examples of plagiarism include, but are not limited to the following: the submission of works
completed by another, either in part or in whole; failure to give credit for ideas, statements, facts or
conclusions which rightfully belong to another; failure to use quotation marks when quoting directly
from another, whether it be a paragraph, a sentence, or even a part thereof; close and lengthy
paraphrasing of another's writing without credit or originality; use of another's project or programs,
or part thereof, without giving credit.
Measures Taken
Efit Academy adopts numerous measures to ensure its assessment scheme is fair and honourable.

of originality with each and every assignment.

Complaints Policy And Appeal Procedures
Scope of this policy and procedure.
This Procedure applies to all complaints and appeals highlighted by enrolled student/clients. This
procedure also applies to complaints and appeals highlighted by staff of Efit Academy. The
complaint may be against another client and/or staff member/s. In certain circumstances, this
procedure may be used to deal with a complaint against a person who is not an employee or client,
but who is involved in a training/assessment related activity.
Definitions
Appeal
An appeal is where a client of an RTO, or other interested party, may dispute a decision made by the
RTO. The decision made by the RTO may be an assessment decision or may be about any other
aspect of the RTO’s operations.
Complaints
A complaint is any expression of dissatisfaction with an action product or service of an education
and training provider.
Process
Informal Resolutions: We encourage our students/clients and staff to informally resolve
complaints/appeals as we have found that the majority of these situations can be addressed and
resolved on this level.
In the event if a complaint/appeal arises we request that students/clients first speak to their
Trainer/Assessor or person/s their complaint and appeal is related to about their issue/s. We
promote and request that parties involved try to resolve their issues with each other in an informal
manner, with mutual respect for each other.
However we also understand that not all complaints/appeals cannot be resolved in an informal
manner. We endeavour to have all informal complaints/appeals be bought to the attention of RTO
Management meetings including the CEO of Efit Academy and forwarded to the continuous
improvement process if applicable. The following process applies.
1. A person will be provided an opportunity to lodge a formal complaint/appeal within 6 months from the date of occurrence of the compliant/appeal. For example, if your complaint/appeal arose on 1 January 2014 then you will have up to 30 June 2014 to lodge your formal compliant/appeal;
2. A person's enrolment (for students) or contract (for contractors) or agreement (for staff) and any other arrangements we have with the person making the complaint/appeal with Efit Academy will not be suspended, deferred, cancelled or affected in any manner during the complaints/appeals lodgement and resolution process or as a result of them lodging a complaint/appeal with us. Except where the person making the complaint/appeal has

If a person deems they have grounds for a complaint/appeal, or a conflict arises from actions, decisions or omissions by Efit Academy management or staff, and has been unsuccessful to informally resolve the issue. Then this needs to be brought to the attention of the CEO of Efit Academy. The student/client will be required to complete a Complaints/Appeals Form and this form will be provided to the student client within 48 hours of the issue arising;
5. If the student/client wishes, they could have their complaint/appeal handled exclusively and confidentially by the CEO or by an independent Third Party if the complaint/appeal is against the CEO of Efit Academy. (Note: Third Party mediator will be a person who is employed by the Dispute Settlement Centre of Victoria www.justice.vic.gov.au). The student/client just needs to indicate this on the Complaints/Appeals Form. If a complaint/appeal is still not resolved then the student/client is advised that they can visit this link http://www.asqa.gov.au/complaints/making-a-complaint.html and follow due process outlined by Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and/or the RTO Funding Body link http://www.education.vic.gov.au/about/contact/Pages/compliancecomplain.aspx. It is an ASQA and RTO Funding body requirement that a student/client must go through the RTO's internal resolution process first before they can contact ASQA or RTO Funding Body via the link provided above. So the student must follow all RTO complaint/appeals resolution processes before contacting ASQA or the RTO Funding Body to make a complaint;
6. All formal written complaints/appeals lodged will be brought to the attention of the CEO or delegate within 48 hours of being received and logged in the Complaints & Appeals Register.xlsx by the CEO. An opportunity will be provided to all complainants/appellants to formally present their case;
7. The complaint will be investigated within 14 working days. The CEO will make final decisions. The CEO will ensure that as far and as fairly as possible, the person making the complaint/appeal is satisfied with the outcome. However, Efit Academy will not be responsible for issues that are clearly and solely the student's/client's responsibility;
8. The person making the complaint/appeal will receive a written statement of the outcomes, including reasons for the decision within 21 working days of lodging their complaint/appeal. If a complaint/appeal is not rectified to the satisfaction of both parties, the CEO will call a meeting of the parties and have a third-party attend in order to mediate the dispute, if this has not occurred earlier in the resolution process. (Note: Third Party mediator will be a person who is employed by the Dispute Settlement Centre of Victoria www.justice.vic.gov.au);
9. Efit Academy at all times will endeavour to resolve any issues the students/clients may have. All complaints/appeals whether formal or informal that have been bought to the attention of CEO and/or Efit Academy management and their outcomes will be progressively recorded in our Complaints/Appeals Register to keep track of all complaints/appeals and their current status to update all stakeholders involved in the lodgement, management and resolution of the compliant/appeal. Information from this register will be used by Efit Academy to improve the quality of its services and reduce customer complaints/appeals;
All improvements stemming from complaints/appeals will be recorded in our Continuous
Improvement Register and our Continuous Improvement procedure applies to make necessary
improvements.
