An ideal wedding venue

When you choose the Charles Cotton for your wedding ceremony, reception or for both, you can relax, safe in the

knowledge that every aspect of your special day will be handled and managed by our dedication wedding

coordinator. From your first meeting with us at the hotel, to when you leave as husband and wife, we don't leave

anything to chance. We take time to plan and work through your timings; we discuss your preferred menu and wine

list options with our head chef, and we can also provide details of our recommended suppliers, including florists,

photographers and wedding limousines.

The hotel, in the picturesque village of Hartington, is the perfect setting for intimate country weddings and offers a

choice of stunning backdrops to formal and informal wedding photographs. Whether it's close-ups of the bride and

groom in front of the duck pond or group shots outside the 400-year-old hotel, your wedding photographs will be

treasured for years to come.

As independent hoteliers our service is friendly and professional, delivered by people who really care. This also

means that you have complete flexibility to select every element of your wedding day, including bespoke menus and

drinks of your choice.

The hotel has 17 individually styled bedrooms including our romantic Dovedale suite. Complementary car parking is

available to all our guests. The stylish Charles Cotton Suite can accommodate up to 60 people seated and 90 people

for an evening reception. Making the Charles Cotton the perfect venue for you and your partner to begin the next

chapters of your life together.

As a special gift to you to celebrate your cotton wedding anniversary (2nd)we'd like to offer you a complimentary 1

night stay in our Dovedale suite as a special reminder of your wedding celebrations.

Civil ceremonies and partnerships

For weddings up to 60 guests your civil ceremony or partnership will take place in the Cotton Suite.

Once a date has been provisionally reserved with us, you will need to contact the registry office, to ensure they are

able to marry you on the desired date. The cost to have your Civil ceremony or Partnership, at the Charles Cotton

Hotel is £500 (this excludes registrars' fees).

Your wedding day should be a day that flows perfectly. With this in mind an ideal time for your wedding (if you're

having your full wedding day with us) is between 2pm-4pm depending on your guest numbers. However, if for any

reason this time is unavailable. please contact us and we will be happy to discuss how your proposed time will fit

into the days agenda.

For those couples choosing to exchange their vows in a church, your day will continue at the Charles Cotton Hotel

and commence with your drinks reception upon your arrival. You and your guests will be greeted and directed

through to where your celebration drinks will be waiting for you.

Wedding Breakfast

After your drinks reception our master of ceremonies will ask you and your guests to begin taking your seats for the

start of the wedding breakfast, which will take place in our beautiful cotton suite overlooking the picturesque village

of Hartington.

We advise people allocating 3 hours for your wedding breakfast and speeches depending on your final guest

numbers, to ensure you can thoroughly enjoy your first meal together as a married couple.

Together with our award winning chefs we have designed what we feel are three inspiring and delicious wedding

breakfast menus that offer choice and quality. To compliment your meal a half bottle of wine per person has also

been allocated to compliment your meal. The quality of the wine will totally depend on which package has been

chosen.

To cater for vegetarians, suitable dishes have been incorporated into each menu and if there are any other dietary

requirements our chefs are more than happy to accommodate for these needs.

Your wedding breakfast will take place in our cotton suite which can accommodate up to 60 guests (60 sit down

guests and up to 90 guests in the evening). With direct access to our outside terrace, the cotton suite is the perfect

space to sit back, relax and enjoy your wedding breakfast.

If you haven't already done so, we would love to welcome you and your family to dine in our award winning bistro

prior to your wedding day to taste our delicious food and meet our friendly team.

Your Evening Reception

Once your wedding breakfast and speeches are complete the wedding party will move into our cosy bar bistro to

allow the cotton suite to be prepared for the evenings' festivities. The cotton suite again is the perfect space for an

evening reception as it has a private bar, outside terrace area (weather permitting) small dance floor and an ample

space for a DJ or band of your choice, this suite can accommodate up to 90 guests in total for the evening.

complete your evening wedding celebrations.

Pricing and Availability

To ensure your day runs as smoothly as possible we have devised 4 pricing packages- Chatsworth,

Hartington, Devonshire and Beresford. Depending on the chosen date for your special day will determine

which package your wedding will falls under (see table below).

All wedding packages include: room hire, seat covers, mood lighting, and background music. Please note

flowers and place settings are to be provided by client.

Terms and Conditions

1. A provisional booking can only be held for 14 days.

2. A non-refundable deposit of £500.00 is required to secure your reservation. on receipt of this your booking

will be confirmed to you in writing.

3. A further 50% of the estimated total is payable 12 weeks before the date of your wedding, and is non-

refundable. It is your responsibility to ensure that payment is received by the confirmed due date.

4. The final numbers along with the remaining outstanding balance is payable 30 days prior to your weddings.

All monies paid are non-refundable after this date.

5. Should your final guest numbers not reach the provisionally booked amount, the Charles Cotton Hotel

reserves the right to alter the function room chosen.

6. Prices quoted are correct at the time of printing. The Charles Cotton Hotel reserves the right to alter the

prices of food and drink due to unforeseen changes in prices from our suppliers and changes in VAT.

7. Any outstanding costs incurred during your wedding day must be settled on the day of departure.

8. Cancellation policy

a) if the booking is cancelled more that 12 months before the wedding there will be the loss of £500

deposit.

b) if the booking is cancelled 6-12 months before the wedding there will be a charge of 25% of the

estimated costs.

c) if the booking is cancelled 3-6 months before the wedding there will be a charge of 50% of the

estimated costs.

d) if the booking is cancelled under 3 months before the wedding there will be a charge of 100% of the

total costs.

9. We therefore strongly advise you to take out an insurance policy to cover any eventuality.
