Wedding Ceremonies and Civil Partnerships

A unique venue for weddings and civil partnerships, Cannon Hall is the perfect setting for your special day. Fantastic photo opportunities can be found both in and outside of the stunning hall.

Our beautiful landscaped gardens also offer a picturesque setting for photographs with a difference to capture your day beautifully.

We offer a completely bespoke service that can be tailored to suit your own specific needs and ideas. With many years experience producing epic to small scale weddings, our expert team can help and advise you at every stage of your wedding planning.

You can expect an individual and professional service ensuring your wedding day is special, memorable and run to perfection.

The Ballroom

The finely detailed dark oak panelling and lovely minstrel’s gallery gives the Ballroom the richly decorated appearance of a Jacobean Hall from the English renaissance period.

Licensed for weddings and civil partnerships the Ballroom can accommodate up to 90 guests and provides a gorgeous backdrop for you and your guests to enjoy. Glittering and atmospheric in the best traditional sense, it offers the most perfect setting to show off your beautiful wedding dress.

The Library Added to the existing house in the 1760’s the Library is an elegant and beautiful room, providing a tasteful period backdrop for smaller groups. Licensed for weddings and civil partnerships it accommodates up to 30 guests.

Receptions

A wide range of spaces at Cannon Hall are available for wedding breakfasts, afternoon and evening receptions, as well as for drinks and canapés following your ceremony.

We offer a completely flexible service and can cater for all types of receptions, from grand formal silver service fine dining events to vintage tea parties and picnics on the lawn.

Our in-house caterer will work with you to create a bespoke menu with matching wine (if required) to suit your taste and budget.

The Ballroom can be enjoyed for both your ceremony and reception. It is also suitable for live music and entertainment.

The Spencer Wing, adjacent to the Ballroom, is the perfect space for your Wedding breakfast or afternoon reception. For a smaller reception the atmospheric Servants Hall can seat up to 40 guests. Adjacent to the Servants Hall is the Victorian Kitchen, a fantastic and highly alternative setting for your reception.

The gorgeous Cottage Garden is available for drinks receptions and is the perfect place to begin your celebrations. Beautifully arranged with a stunning array of floral plants it offers a wonderfully photogenic backdrop for your wedding photography; if you want to continue the party outdoors we can also arrange for a marquee to be erected in the grounds.

A unique setting with a rich industrial heritage, Elsecar is an extraordinary venue for your special day.

Elsecar Heritage Centre Wedding Ceremonies and Civil Partnerships

Building 21 at Elsecar is an excellent venue for large weddings, civil ceremonies and receptions. Boasting a flexible space the room can accommodate up to 900 guests, although it can be partitioned into smaller segments if required.

The venue is licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies and for evening receptions.

We encourage couples to decorate the space to suit their needs and tastes. Our experienced team will provide you with expert advice throughout the wedding planning process, and help you arrange your special day.

Receptions

Building 21 is available for afternoon and evening receptions, as well as for drinks and canapés following your ceremony. We offer a completely flexible service and can cater for all types and sizes of receptions.

Our in-house caterer can create bespoke menus to suit your taste and budget. We can include all the kit you may need to stage a live band or disco. If you want to party under one roof, this is the place.

The outdoor courtyard space can be adopted for a range of alternative uses, past celebrations have enjoyed a funfair and a children’s play area. Our team can also arrange for a marquee to be erected if you want some extra space.

Located within the renowned, attractive conservation village of Elsecar, Elsecar Heritage Centre is both a unique attraction and a working hub of industry. It will appeal to brides who adore something different, yet traditional and of great historical interest.

With restored ironworks and colliery workshops on site, as well as the Heritage Railway, Elsecar is a remarkable setting for a wedding, civil partnership or reception. It will delight your guests and provide an amazing and theatrical backdrop to your big day.

With many years experience our expert team will help and advise you at every stage of decision making, including working with you to choose a wonderful selection of food and drink for your guests.

Worsbrough Mill Worsbrough Mill is a 17th century working watermill situated in 240 acres of tranquil country park and is a fantastic location for a reception with a difference.

Rich in industrial heritage, the mill offers a beautiful and tranquil setting for wedding photographs. Receptions take place in a marquee erected in the main courtyard overlooking the attractive historic mill buildings and country park.

Cooper Gallery The Cooper Gallery is a vibrant creative art-space in the heart of the conservation area. It is an intimate, unique and special venue.

You can expect an individual and professional service to ensure your wedding is a special and memorable day.

The Cooper Gallery is the perfect venue for your special day. Licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies the Sadler Room is an intimate and elegant space, accommodating up to 60 guests.

Following your ceremony the Sadler Room may be used as a space to entertain guests with a small drinks and canapés reception. Drinks receptions may also take place in the main gallery area, although availability is dependent on the type of exhibition on display.
