Welcome to Springkell, a simply stunning 18th-century Palladian mansion, lovingly restored to create the perfect exclusive-use venue for weddings, corporate events, parties and gatherings.

Nestled in the heart of Dumfriesshire in south-west Scotland, Springkell has been the ancestral home of the Johnson-Ferguson family for 120 years.

Our family prides itself on its outstanding level of service, so whatever the event, we will bend over backwards to accommodate your requirements.

From the beautiful 100 acres of grounds and gardens, to plentiful accommodation, decorated by the same designers responsible for the interiors at The Goring in London (where the Duchess of Cambridge stayed the night before the Royal Wedding), beauty, opulence, hospitality and a warm, welcoming atmosphere come as standard at this wonderful venue.

We offer a range of bespoke options at our beautiful Palladian mansion, situated six miles from Gretna Green.

At a Springkell wedding, the wow factor comes as standard. The house is glorious, the food is delicious and our grounds and interiors are simply breathtaking.

We pride ourselves on delivering outstanding personal service to ensure you have the happiest day of your life.

We’ll bend over backwards to smooth out every detail, so your big day is just perfect for you.

There is a wonderful sense of space and privacy both inside and outside the house. Your own personal wedding planner is provided free of charge as part of your wedding package, to help you and plan your day down to the finest detail, so you can simply relax and enjoy your magical stay with us.

• Cherish the memories of your wonderful day using your own wedding photographer (or we can recommend a photographer for you). There are beautiful backdrops throughout Springkell both in the house and in the surrounding grounds.

• Select your wedding breakfast, prepared from a splendid selection of traditional, locally - sourced ingredients by our wonderful chef

Creating Your Wedding Experience

The Venue Fee is included the night before the wedding and includes your Honeymoon Suite with Full Scottish Breakfast to your room on the morning of your wedding. Meals on the first night can be arranged, with various options: for example, a three course served meal; BBQ; curry; lasagne; hog roast or tapas which are all priced at £24.95 per person.

You don’t have to stay the night before, but many couples love settling in and being with their friends and family for longer!

In the total price we don’t include the accommodation for your guests, this is because most of our couples will ask their guests to pick these costs up themselves.

All the bedrooms are £130 per room per night (£65 per person per night) and are inclusive of full Scottish Breakfast. We have 14 luxury ensuite bedrooms in the main house and two, two-bedroom cottages just 50 metres from the main house. So, we can accommodate a total of 47 guests comfortably here.

We have a well-stocked bar offering Peroni, Black Sheep, Carling, Guinness, Thatcher’s Gold and Dark Fruits on draught, over 50 whiskies, over 20 gins, over 10 vodkas and all the spirits you need as well as FeverTree mixers and lots of soft drinks including J2O. We also have 10 delicious house wines and over 50 different red and white wines in our wine cellar.

Our chef is excellent as you can see in our Facebook reviews. For the Wedding meal we offer 16 starters, 16 mains and 16 desserts and from these you choose two starters, two main courses and two desserts. In addition we will also cook for your vegetarian, coeliac, vegan guests and for guests with dietary requirements.

Creating Your Wedding Experience

The total cost of your wedding as above, based on 60 guests on a Saturday would be £10,520. And this includes staying the Friday night too!Midweek the cost would be £7,520 and this includes staying the night before.

We pride ourselves on being able to help you organise all the special touches for your day. If you would like our help, we can support you in organising flowers, DJ, band, legal documents for your Wedding, registrar, celebrant, priest, photographer, videographer, fireworks, and really whatever you need for your Wedding.

In addition, we offer a Supplier Wedding Package at £2,500 which includes:

When it comes to corporate hospitality, Springkell is bound to impress. Easy access from the M74, four large conference rooms and endless grounds make it perfect for private indoor and outdoor events.

At Springkell, we specialise in providing our guests with exactly what they want. In addition to our four conference rooms, we have 18 bedrooms capable of accommodating a total of 47 people. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the house for those who wish to keep the office with them.

Our two sitting rooms seat up to 45 people and are equipped with televisions and game consoles.Throughout the day, our experienced chef will prepare breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, canapés and dinner to your culinary requirements.

Our two dining rooms lend themselves to events of all sizes from two to 100 in the house and up to 250 in our marquee.

Springkell can offer all the necessary facilities, including chefs, tailored menus, halal, kosher, bar, music, disco, fireworks, projector, projector screen, presentation easels and even silence if you need it.

With its extensive private grounds of over 100 acres, plentiful accommodation, several meeting rooms and break-out rooms, exclusive use for the duration of your stay, take advantage of Springkell for your event. And we can help you plan it from start to finish too.

Springkell is 10 miles from the Scottish border just north of Gretna Green. The first mansion in Scotland!

Take Junction 20 off the M74, then drive through Eaglesfield Village. Drive down a short hill and you’ll see some white gates with a large blue sign marked Springkell. Go through the white gates and up the winding drive to Springkell.
