Wednesday 13h30: RF synchronization test for LBDS. Collimation

ramp without beam. Both channels are properly connected: trims on B1 were

properly recorded on LBDS for B1 and the same for B2. We had nevertheless to trim by 1 kHz to see any change.

Collimators ramped OK. No interlock. 16h00: Beam setup at injection. 17h00: Ramp with collimators closing and orbit

feedback. Ramp down and cycle. Beam 2 heavily jumping (“dancing beam”). Orbit feedback

driving orbit correctors. Beam 2 dumped due to beam position interlock. Beam 1 up without losses and with closing collimators (primary

collimators staying at 6 sigma. No collimator interlocks. Position + gap thresholds around

closing jaw positions.

Beam 1 dumped due to new energy-dependent gap threshold on four primary collimators.

Collimators saw energy ramping and ran out of allowed gap. Involuntary MPS test.

Not foreseen to change between two setups rapidly. Forgotten thresholds.

02h47: Beam dump 3.5 TeV. Ramp down and cycle. 05h47: Start of ramp for beta beat studies. 07h20: Start of RF studies at 3.5 TeV.
