Parallel to the NZILA 2017 conference, a student charrette will occur at the School of Architecture of Victoria University of Wellington from 3rd - 5th of April.
50 New Zealand landscape architecture students from VUW, Unitec and Lincoln will work with the conference theme of small and strategical urban interventions. In groups of 4-5, the students will focus on the evolving and progressive Te Aro. The goal will be to think how minimal interventions can catalyse big impacts.
Across the detailed, territorial and site scales, the smallness of the intervention shall be measured by cost, size or temporality. The bigness of the impact should be considered in terms of how this intervention might transform social activities or improve the environment.
Student charrette:
Student Charrette - brief
A final presentation/public review of the study will be held at the Atrium of the School of Architecture (5 April from 17.30 to 19.00). All works will be exhibited until Saturday 8 April.
