Covenants Committee Report Summer is here, so itʼs time for the boat and travel trailers to come out of hibernation. Please remember, according to the Holly Tree Covenants, all boats and trailers may not be kept on the real property unless stored within the garage. Warm weather also means the onset of yard work; we have some of the most picturesque landscape in the area with mature trees and bushes. In order to maintain our property values, it is important that we take pride in the appearance of our property. One unkempt yard can detract from the entire neighborhood. Most of the area garbage trucks will take yard waste if properly bundled. We have had complaints regarding nonfunctional vehicles stored on the property. It is against the Covenants to keep any ”disabled or wrecked vehicle” on the real property (Article 2.17). If your business requires the use of commercial trucks or other equipment, they should not be stored on the real property but should remain at the place of business. A copy of the Holly Tree Covenants is located in the Holly Tree directory and is also available on the Holly Tree web-site, myhollytree.com. Any Covenant violation, complaint, or question should be submitted in writing to either the Holly Tree website or the post office box. Thank you for your continued support.
Architectural Committee ReportThe Architectural Committee is working with the Covenants Committee to identify all fences in Holly Tree that do not comply with our Covenants. All of these homeowners will be contacted about their fence(s) and asked to bring them into compliance over time. While we understand that, over the years, there have been varying standards of enforcing the Covenants, your current Board is strongly committed to strict Covenant enforcement in all areas to best protect our investments both in our homes and in our neighborhood.Any fence construction plans must be submitted and approved by the Architectural Committee before erection. Failure to secure this approval may result in a fence having to come down. The Application For Architectural Change is found on our website, www.myhollytree.com.Thank you in advance for your cooperation in keeping Holly Tree a premiere subdivision.
I can handle all your real estate needs AND I am also a Travel Consultant. Please contact me for all your travel and vacation needs. [email protected]

TREASURER’S REPORT Several neighbors who know that I was elected Treasurer of the Homeowners Association last year have asked me about the use ofthe dues each property owner must pay every year. These funds are closely budgeted by your Board of Directors for the benefit of the entire community. Expenses include the repair, replacement and maintenance of the 97 light poles throughout the Plantation; the cost of lighting for these light poles and entrances (over $700 per month); repair of the custom designed street signs (in excess of $1,000 per sign when needed); entranceway irrigation; the cost of the plantings made throughout the year at the entranceways (most labor is provided by faithful volunteers); security patrol of the area (approximately $15,000/year); garage sale notices; printing and mailing the newsletter four times per year; printing the directory; improvements such as the new entrance with lighting and irrigation; and the spiraling legal fees necessary for collection of dues, enforcement of the covenants and other legal advice as needed by your Association. Your Board of Directors works diligently to maintain the fiduciary responsibility that the membership has bestowed upon them through election and welcomes any opportunity to cut costs and preserve the treasury for us all. Any member is entitled to a copy of the Treasurer’s Report for the previous year and a summary recap of current year’s expenditures upon request. BOOK REVIEW: The Plants Who Ate Dirty Socks
Brothers, Michael and Norman, solve all sorts of mysteries in this new laugh-loaded wacky adventure series about two giant sock-eating pet plants. Michael, the older brother and very messy, and Norman, the younger one who is a neatness nut and expert pest, grow a couple of weird (but loveable) plants from mail-order seeds that Michael ordered. Strange things start to happen when Michael notices parts of clothing missing from his heaped-piled room. The ever-growing plants, Stanley and Fluffy, had suddenly developed an appetite for dirty and clean socks. Trying to keep their plants’ sock-eating a secret, the boys come up with outrageous schemes to keep their parents from getting rid of the gobbling greenery. Nancy McArthur, the author of these funny up-roaring series is simply brilliant. Children of all ages will delight in these charming, laugh out loud, and fun-filled books. By: Lianne R. Cummings
It’s about two brothers who get two plants from the mail and it leads them into trouble. The brothers name the plants, Stanley and Fluffy. The plants only eat socks. Stanley eats dirty socks while Fluffy eats clean socks. With Stanley and Fluffy, anything can happen! By: J. Cameron Cummings (age 10)
