05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 2

Mat 6:33 KJV But seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Q: Is the pursuit of the kingdom the dominant motivation and criteria for which you selected that decision, job, school, marriage partner, employee, employer etc.?

This is a major key to enjoying the favor of the Kingdom

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 3

• There is a need to comprehend the concept of a kingdom because:

1. it is what we are commanded to SEEK FIRST

2. it is a foundational theme featuring in the VISION and MISSION of the LRF-LRD

LOGOS RHEMA FOUNDATION FOR LEADERSHIP RESORUCE DEVELOPMENT

VISION: Attain Inheritance for KingdomPurpose

MISSION: To grow Children into SONSHIP-BUILDERS (SONS OF THE KINGDOM): SEED TO BE PLANTED IN THE EARTH (Matt 13:18-38) TO (REAP MEN) BRING MANY SONS INTO GLORY.

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 5

In explaining Kingdom, we’ll see how similar or different it is from a state under democratic rule.

States were born out of Kingdoms

A kingdom is NOT a state

Comprehending Kingdoms require new set of thinking patterns.

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 6

• TODAY we’ll focus on the concept of the Kingdom by looking at:

i. The King

ii. Territory

iii. Lordship

Next week, we’ll look at other aspects of the concept.

WHAT IS A STATE? CRITERIA FOR STATEHOOD

CRITERIA FOR STATEHOOD (INTERNATIONAL LAW)• Recognition does not bestow statehood.

• A State is a state under international law (i.e. it has international legal personality), if it meets certain basic criteria.i. Must have a territory.ii. Must have a population.iii. Must have a government.iv. Must be sovereign, that is to say must be able to exercise

sovereign functions on the territory (e.g., be able to exclude anyone else from claiming it (defense), policing, administration (raise taxes), etc.).

• End of the Soviet Union

• Recognition of States• Secession from an existing State or uniting existing separate states

• Is recognition a condition for existence?

• Can recognition be invalid?

• The four basic criteria• Convention on the rights and duties of states (1933)

1. Population• Self-sustained? Avoid numerous states?

• Self-determination – ”peoples”

2. Territory• Sustainable exploitations of resources – self-sustained?

• Border conflicts and disputed borders

3. Governing structures• Recognition of governments? To what extent a political

decision?• Stability and control• Self-determination• Minorities vs. indigenous peoples

• Indigenous peoples – the basic problem of control over natural resources

4. Self-governance• Different starting points• Loss of self governance – Norway during the war• Establishment of self governance• Decolonisation (UNGA res. 1514 – ”inalienable right”)

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 24

LORDSHIP, SUBJECTS & SUBMISSION

• There has been an onslaught against coverings or authority figures and structures such as, fatherhood and Lordship. Submission has been given a negative connotation esp. because abuses have been highlighted by dragon.

• Isn’t it curious the positives of submission have not been highlighted?

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 26

• The Dragon knows that a proper understanding & adapting to true Lordship will lead to Zoe so he attacks/smites the heads, shepherds, leaders etc. via gossip, slander, disrespect etc.

• Mar 14:27 …I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered

• Some of his successful strategy is using the sheep themselves to smite their leaders, heads, foundations, authority structures

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 27

SAYING IT WITHOUT DOING IT WON’T SUFFICEMat 4:7 KJV Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Mat 7:21-24 KJV

(21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

(22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

(23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

(24) Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 28

DEDUCTIONS

• V21 To enter the KING’DOM, HE must be your LORD for the KING is LORD. Lip service alone will not suffice

• V22-23 Good works w/o subjection/submission to His Lordship equals “I never knew you”

• V22 Those he’ll reject are many. “Many will say Lord…”

• V24 If you DO His will, He is your Lord & you are wise

• Our eternity hangs on whether He is truly our LORD or not—evidenced through our DOING. Live GOD’s Word

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 29

LORD DEFINITION

G2962 κυ ριος, kurios

1) he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master, lord

1a) the possessor and disposer of a thing

1a1) the owner; one who has control of the person, the master

E.g.:

• You are Lord [owner] over your own manor

• Why because … a Lord is …

He to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master, lord

Does Jesus own you?

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 31

LORDSHIP: SELF-ASSESSMENT

1. Do we relate to GOD as our LORD?

2. Do we see ourselves as SUBJECT to Him and His Kingdom etc.?

3. Does it reflect in our day to day life?

4. What do we understand by SUBJECTION to His Kingdom?

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 32

WHO IS THE LORD?

Isa 33:22 KJV …the LORD (yehovah) is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD isour king; he will save us.

The Lord is OUR executive, judiciary and legislature. His Word is final.

It is the LORD who saves from death, sin, demons, debt, mediocrity, fear etc.

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 33

LORDSHIP & SUBJECTION

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 34

LORD AND SUB’JECTS

• The Church (including you) is called to be SUBJECT to Christ

• What does that mean?

• Eph 5:24 KJV Therefore as the church is SUBJECT unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 35

LORD AND SUB’JECTS• A comprehension of subjection gave rise to what our LORD

described as great faith

• Mat 8:9-12 KJV For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. (10) When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. (11) And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. (12) But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 36

LORD AND SUB’JECTS

• The Centurion’s comprehension of subjection/submission & corresponding GREAT Faith was derived from the fact that he himself was a man UNDER authority

• Jesus described his faith as GREAT. Why?

• V11-12 Children of the Kingdom who refuse to subject themselves will receive judgment while outsiders who understand and subject themselves will receive what the centurion received

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 37

• We cannot expect others to submit to us when we ourselves are not submitted to GOD.

• Under’standing (standing-under) authority enables us to know its workings and how to discharge it

• Sub means Under. To understand a mission, you must necessarily sub or “stand under” that mission so you can help fulfill it hence sub-mission.

• Submission is Key to Kingdom life. Only GOD does not submit 1 Cor 11:3

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 38

LORD AND SUB’JECTS

• In GOD’s Kingdom, the territories, jurisdiction, inhabitants etc. are SUB’ject to GOD the KING i.e. placed under GOD

• Heb 2:8 KJV Thou hast put all things in SUBJECTIONunder his feet. For in that he put all in SUBJECTIONunder him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. CfMat 8:9-12

• If we are not sub’mitted to Him, we cannot bring other things in sub’jection to Him.

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 39

LORD AND SUB’JECTS

• One definition of Kingdom: “The territory, country including population SUBJECT to a King”

• Many fail to reach their highest potential in the Kingdom because of a lack of proper appreciation of what it means to be SUBJECT to a King

• Subjects are (1)of the 7 pillars of the Kingdom

• Those who SUBJECT themselves to the King are called Subjects

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 40

7 PILLARS OF THE KINGDOM

1. KING

2. THRONE

3. FOUNDATIONS OF THRONE including STONES• Stones include ALTARS + GATES + COVENANTS

4. SCEPTER

5. COUNCIL OF ELDERS

6. MESSENGERS

7. SUBJECTS

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 41

• A proper comprehension of love is needed to operate in a Kingdom

• GOD is KING & GOD is LOVE

• TRUE LOVE is not always SWEET as Hollywood depicts.

• Love has a severe or bitter side aimed at building or restoring GOD’s people• E.g. a doctor might break a leg to set it well.

• Love encourages but it also scourges when needed

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 42

• Heb 12:6-7 AMP

• (6) For the Lord corrects and disciplines everyone whom He loves, and He punishes, even scourges, every son whom He accepts and welcomes to His heart and cherishes.

• (7) You must submit to and endure [correction] for discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons. For what son is there whom his father does not [thus] train and correct and discipline?

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 43

• QUESTION: Who does the Lord correct & discipline?

• ANSWER: Everyone whom He LOVES, and He punishes, even scourges, every son whom He accepts and welcomes to His heart and cherishes

• Sonship requires discipline

• Lack of discipline = Hate for the one being trained i.e. the son.

• Lack of discipline = not accepted, not welcome, not cherished

• Same applies to families

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 44

• Pro 19:18 KJV Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

• Pro 13:24 AMP He who spares his rod [of discipline] hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines diligently and punishes him early. [Prov. 19:18; 22:15; 23:13; 29:15, 17.]

• SELF ASSESSMENT: Differentiate between love and hate for those under authority

• GOD LOVES US so he disciplines us. Its part of KINGDOM life. We must cherish correction

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 45

• Be holistic. Appreciate both God’s Kindness and His Severity. Both are meant for our good

• Rom 11:22 KJV Behold therefore the goodnessand severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 46

• Php 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

• GOD is GOOD but we must have a healthy reverence for Him as Savior, Lord, Daddy, Master, Husband etc

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 47

LORD AND SUB’JECTS

What is Subjection? ARE YOU SUBJECT TO JESUS?

Thayer Definition: hupotasso

1) to arrange under, to subordinate

2) to subject, put in subjection

3) to subject one’s self, obey

4) to submit to one’s control. Do we submit our control..

5) to yield to one’s admonition or advice

6) to obey, be subject

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 48

LORDSHIP AND SUBJECTION

• Inability to SUBJECT oneself UNDER authority of Kingdom disqualifies one from Kingdom discipleship

• Subjection requires discipline and discipline is required to be a disciple

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 49

AMPLIFIED BIBLE DEFINITION OF SUBJECTION

• 1Pe 3:1-2 KJV Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; (2) While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 50

• 1Pe 3:1-2 AMP IN LIKE manner, you married women, be submissive to your own husbands [subordinate yourselves as being secondary to and dependent on them, and adapt yourselves to them], so that even if any do not obey the Word [of God], they may be won over not by discussion but by the [godly] lives of their wives, (2) When they observe the pure and modest way in which you conduct yourselves, together with your reverence [for your husband; you are to feel for him all that reverence includes: to respect, defer to, revere him--to honor, esteem, appreciate, prize, and, in the human sense, to adore him, that is, to admire, praise, be devoted to, deeply love, and enjoy your husband]. 05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 51

• The Church, is Jesus’ bride and we are supposed to: subordinate ourselves as being secondary to and dependent on Him [Twere dua mpong ]

adapt ourselves to Jesus

feel for him all that reverence includes

•What does reverence include?

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 52

REVERENCE INCLUDES:

• to respect Jesus

• defer to Jesus

• to honor Jesus

• Esteem Jesus

• Appreciate Jesus

• Prize Jesus

• to adore Jesus

• to admire Jesus

• Praise Jesus

• be devoted to Jesus

• deeply love Jesus,

• enjoy our husband Jesus

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 53

• A lack of reverence affects & is affected by the estimation of our value of Him

• This affects our appreciation of Him, and our value of Him

Mar 14:3-4 KJV(3) And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.(4) And there were some that had indignation within

themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?

• What value do we place on Apostle Bako? What value do we place on Jesus? Is a years wages too much for him?

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 54

DEMOCRACIES VS. KINGDOMS

Which is better?

ANS: Which one does GOD use?

WHY did humanity do away with Kingdoms?

ANS: Same as Israel, Independence from GOD the King, His authority and values; NWO after WW2, Hegemonies and draconian policies

Excuse used: Abuses of royal families

Have abuses been solved by demos-kratos

Only the power of GOD can solve the World challenges

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 55

MINDSETS: DIFFERENCE BETWEEN KINGDOM & DEMOCRACY Adopt a kingdom mindset. Do not import democratic mindset into kingdom living

• We live in democracies physically speaking, have grown up and been disciple within a democratic context BUT YET we are born into GOD and must SEEK FIRST His KINGDOM and live by KINGDOM mindset and principles

• The Democratic context within which people live and grow up affects people’s understandings about GOD & His Kingdom

05-Apr-16LRF 3RD DAY OF WEEK TRAINING SEMINAR 57

• The idea of democracy stems out from the humanistic view that man is generally good &decent so would act wisely together to govern themselves outside the wisdom of God.

• Man is not generally good: "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." (Gen 6:5) Also see Jer 17:9

• Unfortunately the Humanistic view of democracy is prevalently believed all over the world because of the world order introduced after WW2.
