All works will be created on canvas using acrylic paint.

USING THE POTTER’S WHEEL [Ages 8+]Have you ever watched someone make a pot on the pot‑ter’s wheel and been amazed? Come and learn how to make your own pots. From preparing the clay properly to attaching it onto the wheel head and shaping it into a pot. The teacher’s demonstrations and individual instruction will help you gain those skills. The pots will be finished with glazes and fired in the kiln. Wear old clothes or bring a smock. Please note: Session A meets: 7/10, 11, 12, 18, 19. Session B meets: 7/13, 14, 17, 20, 21.

DINOSAURS & DRAGONS [Ages 3 ½-6]Let’s go back in time when dinosaurs and dragons roamed the land. We’ll sculpt clay dinosaurs in their habitat, build cardboard dragons, paint dinosaur murals and create our own imaginary creatures. Time for stories, snack and outside play.

CREATE A CLAY CIRCUS WITH ACROBATS [Ages 5-9]Summertime is for circuses! We can make everything about the circus out of clay from Mother Earth. Horses with plumes, dancing dogs, the ring and the band and the performers! We can make the tent, the flying trapeze and the tightrope with fabric and string and wire, in color.

ART IN MOTION [AGES 5-9]Children will use a variety of art materials to make and decorate things that will fly, spin, or wiggle. We will con‑struct and decorate a Japanese fish wind sock, racing turtles, spinners, a rolling Chinese dragon, and tumble bugs. Then we will have fun trying them out.

ART OF THE BEADED CLAY MASK [Ages 8+]Take a journey into the art of mask making as we explore the meaning and use of the mask in cultures from around the world. Students will learn several clay and beading techniques while creating a beaded clay mask from original design to finished masterpiece using polymer clay, glass seed beads and mixed media. Additional projects will include polymer clay beads, mask pendants and more.

LITTLE GLOBE TROTTERS [Ages 3 ½-6]Let’s take a cultural craft journey to countries far and near. Learn about kids “just like you” while making an Adinkra cloth from Africa, clay Adobe house from Mexico, Carp kites from Japan and more! We’ll listen to music and play instruments from different countries and feast on exotic foods. Time for stories, snacks and outside play. Fee pay-able with tuition $5.00.

SKILLS & VISUAL TRICKS INSPIRED BY VIDEO GAMES [Ages 7+]Minecraft and a world of video games and stories offer rich ideas to draw an intricate world. Bring your creativity! Take away clay and sculpture and pictures you’ve made from the stories that inspire you, to put up in your room. Drawing is magic!

COLORING BOOKS, SCRAP BOOKING & MORE [Ages 3 ½-6]Through the use of the ever popular coloring book, this class will explore the art of scrap booking. Class will include instruction in different coloring and collage techniques and will use a variety of mixed media materials such as crayons, colored pencils, markers, watercolors, paper, washi tape and more. Each child will create a scrapbook to display their work in and will use some of the coloring pages to create additional art projects.

AMERICAN GIRL CRAFTS & COOKING: SESSION B [Ages 5-9]Calling all American Girl Fans! Learn about the fascinating lives of the American Girl characters while crafting and cooking. You’ll hand sew Kaya’s native American bag, sculpt Josephina’s adobe clay house, write with Felicity’s colonial feather pen and design a flower crown. We’ll cook summer jam and have a tea party too!
