• Georgia’s Sarah Persinger scored a 39.350 in her first career all-around to lead the Gym Dogs to a 196.575-195.300 win at Michiganon Friday. Persinger recorded season-highs on vault (9.9) and floor(9.875) against the Wolverines, then surpassed her mark on floorwith a 9.9 Sunday against NC State. The Mount Holly, N.C., nativeadded a pair of 9.825s on vault and beam to help Georgia post itssecond-highest score of the season.

ALABAMA Crimson TideAlabama used a 197.175 score to beat Missouri and post its 10th win of theseason and its 28th consecutive home win. It was also UA’s fifth 197-plusscore in the last six meets. The Crimson Tide posted a 49.350 on theuneven bars, its second highest score on that event this season. For the sec-

ond time this season, Alabama’s lead off on the balance beam fell and was followed byfive stuck routines. UA posted a 49.325 on the balance beam against Missouri, its thirdhighest score of the season. Senior Geralen Stack-Eaton won four of five individual titlesup for grab against Missouri, including the all-around. She scored a 39.55 in the all-around,her highest of the season. Junior Marissa Gutierrez won the vault against Mizzou, tying hercareer best with a 9.95, giving Alabama a clean sweep of the individual titles. Alabamacloses out its regular season on Friday, March 16 at home against North Carolina startingat 7:30 p.m. It will be Senior Day in Coleman Coliseum as the Crimson Tide honorsAll-Americans Ashley Priess, Geralen Stack-Eaton and Rachel Terry.

ARKANSAS Lady RazorbacksAfter winning all five individual event titles last week, Arkansas senior All-American Jaime Pisani added four more to her list at West Virginia. Pisani,last week's SEC Gymnast of the Week, tied the school record and won

beam with a 9.95. She also won bars with a 9.875, floor with a 9.90 and the all-aroundwith a 39.60. Her AA score ties for seventh-best in school history. Junior All-American AmyBorsellino had a big meet at WVU. Competing as an all-arounder for the first time in hercareer, she finished second with a 39.35. She won vault with a career-high tying 9.90, wasthird on beam with a career-high 9.875, and had a 9.80 on floor and 9.775 on bars.Sophomore Scarlett Williams had a career-high 9.775 on floor, matched her career best of9.875 on beam and had a 9.85 on vault. Arkansas competed at WVU without all-aroundersJordan Salsberg, who is out for the year with a knee injury, and Katherine Grable, who isresting a tweaked ankle.

AUBURN TigersAuburn improved to 14th in this week’s RQS, up two spots for 16th last week… The Tigers close out the regular season on Friday night against BYU at theAuburn Arena…Auburn posted a season-high 49.200 on beam …The total

helped the Tigers to a 195.925-194.425 road win at Southeast Missouri… Allyson Sanduskyled the way on beam with a season high tying 9.875, also the top score of the meet onthe apparatus…Abbey Habicht added a career-best 9.850 and Yokay tied her career-highmark with a 9.850…Megan Walker also tied her career high with a 9.800 performance onbalance beam…Kylie Shields picked up her 12th and 13th event wins of the season withwins on uneven bars (9.850) and with the all-around title (39.200)… Auburn ranks 10thnationally in bars RQS at 49.170…Shields ranks 7th nationally in bars RQS at9.890…Auburn is 5-4 all-time against BYU.

FLORIDA GatorsNo. 1 Florida returns to action with a home dual meet against perennialpower and current No. 7 Utah. Competition is set for Friday, March 16 at7 p.m. in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. Utah is one of the five teams

which have held the nation’s No. 1 ranking this year. This is the eighth consecutive yearthese two perennial NCAA-bound programs meet in regular-season action. In that span,Florida owns a 5-2 advantage in regular-season action and the two programs are even at7-7 in all meetings since 2005. Utah is the only program in the nation to appear in all 30of the NCAA Gymnastics Championships and Florida has appeared in all but one, missingonly the 2000 event. Friday’s meet is the final home appearance for Gator seniors NicoleEllis, Amy Ferguson and Elizabeth Mahlich. 2009 team member and current student coachKailey Tissue will also be honored at the meet. The group has been a part of three teamswhich advanced to the NCAA Championships, won two NCAA Regional titles and the 2010Southeastern Conference Championships’ crown.

GEORGIA Gym DogsGeorgia remained at No. 5 in the GymInfo Top 25 following a pair of winsto close out the regular season. The Gym Dogs are No. 2 on bars and floorand No. 3 on beam. Georgia earned a 196.575-195.300 win at No. 20

Michigan on Friday, then posted its second-highest score of the season in a 197.375-195.525 win over NC State on Sunday. Georgia has a 49.305 RQS on bars, a 49.320 onfloor and a 49.225 on beam. The Gym Dogs are ranked ninth on vault with a 49.270. UGAscored a season-best 49.550 on floor in the win against NC State on Sunday and haveposted a 49.4 or higher in three of the last five meets. Kat Ding remained at No. 1 on barswith a 9.930, and freshman Chelsea Davis climbed to a tie for fifth with a 9.895. Davisturned in a 9.925 Friday against Michigan and won the bars title Sunday against NC Statewith a 9.95. Gina Nuccio is tied for 14th with a 9.880. On floor, Noel Couch moved up toNo. 4 with a 9.915 after she scored a 9.9 and a 9.95 over the weekend. The junior fromTowaco, N.J., is also ranked 16th in the all-around with a 39.285. KENTUCKY WildcatsFor only the 10th time in school history, the UK gymnastics team has scoreda 196 team score or higher, posting a dominating 196.025 mark in a tri-meetvictory over George Washington and Ball State. The two victories on Sunday

moves Kentucky's record to 8-6 this season, assuring the Wildcats of a winning regular sea-son for the first time since 2008.The meet was a historic one for the Kentucky program,as the score of 196.025 tied the seventh-highest score in school history, while head coachTim Garrison becomes the first head coach in program history to lead the team to a 196-plus team score during year one of a coach's tenure. UK has scored a 195.95 or higher inconsecutive weeks for the first time since the 2002 team posted back-to-back 196s againstBall State and Auburn. The Wildcats defeated George Washington and Ball State on everyevent, while setting or tying eight season highs and seven career highs in the meet.

LSU TigersLSU picked up a victory in the final road dual meet of the season with a196.300-195.700 triumph over Iowa. The Tigers posted the second-best vaultscore of the year with a 49.375 and the third-best bars (49.125) and floor

(49.150) totals of the season. Lloimincia Hall earned her first vault title of the season witha season-high 9.95, and Sarie Morrison won her second-straight bars title with a 9.90.Shelby Prunty and Kaleigh Dickson tied their season highs on beam with matching 9.825’s,and Rheagan Courville placed second on vault (9.925) and bars (9.875). Jessie Jordan tiedher season high on floor with a 9.85, and she led LSU with a second-place finish in the all-around at 39.350. Hall finished right behind her in third place at 39.325. With the solid roadscore, LSU’s RQS moved up from a 196.405 to 196.440. The Tigers play host to WestVirginia in the final home meet of the season. It’s Senior Night when LSU will honor All-American Ashley Lee and senior managers Robby Abboud and Tyler Trahan.

The Southeastern Conference continues to prove itself as the nation’s leading gymnastics conference. Each of the practicing seven SEC gymnasticssquads currently found themselves ranked in the preseason poll, with all seven teams being ranked this week. Florida leads the SEC with a No. 1 rank-ing. Alabama (4th) and Georgia (5th) are the next highest SEC teams, followed by Arkansas (9th) and LSU (10th). Auburn (14th) and Kentucky (23rd)round out the rankings for the SEC. regarded as the most dominating gymnasticsconference in the NCAA.

Since the inaugural NCAA Championshipin 1982, the SEC has had at least one team in all30 national championship meets, with Floridabeing one of only two teams nationally (Utahis the other) to have appeared at all 20 contestsprior to the Gators barely missing the cut in2000. The SEC has also had at least one teamfinish in the Top-10 in the NCAA since 1982.

The SEC entered the record books at the1998 NCAA Championships, becoming theonly conference in women’s collegiate gym-nastics to sweep the top three spots. Georgiawon its fourth championship title with thelargest margin of victory in over 10 years. TheBulldogs outdistanced second-place Floridawho finished just ahead of Alabama. Itmarked the 12th consecutive year that the SECplaced at least two teams in the final top five.

At the 1999 NCAA Championships,Georgia won its second consecutive and fifthoverall first-place title. Alabama, Florida andLSU all finished in the top 10.

In 2000, both Georgia and Alabama fin-ished in the top five, with LSU coming in atninth. Georgia was the national runner-up in2001, with Alabama finishing fourth and Florida seventh.

In 2002, Alabama once again brought the NCAA title back to the SEC by claiming its fourth NationalChampionship, and brought the SEC its eighth overall title. The Crimson Tide edged out SEC rival Georgia197.575-197.250, making the Bulldogs the NCAA runner-up for a second consecutive year and having SECteams claim the top two spots for the first time since 1998. LSU finished eighth at the Nationals, whileFlorida placed 10th.

In 2003, the SEC sent five teams to the NCAA Championships for the third time, with four of those fin-ishing in the top ten. Alabama finished as the runner-up, with Georgia finishing third. It is the 12th timethat the SEC has had two teams finish in the top three.

In 2004, the SEC placed three teams in the top five at the NCAA Championships. Georgia won theSEC’s 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th national championships in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. The SECset a record with five teams advancing to the Super Six in 2009. Alabama won their fifth, and the SEC’s 15thnational championship, in 2011.

In addition to phenomenal success on the team level, SEC athletes have also excelled at the individuallevel, claiming a total of 79 individual championships, including all five in 2009.

In its own right, the SEC has swept all five individual titles on four separate occasions - 1991, 1993, 1994and 2009.

• Alabama won its fifth national championship in 2011and brought home the SEC’s 15th overall title.

• In 1998 the SEC entered the record book as the only con-ference to sweep the top three spots at the NCAA meet(Georgia, Florida, Alabama).

• 2010 marked the 26th consecutive year that the SECplaced at least two teams in the final top five. 2011 was the19th consecutive year placing three in the top 10. A recordfive SEC teams advanced to the Super Six in 2009.

• 20 times in the past 27 years the SEC has placed at leastfour teams in the Top 10 at the NCAA meet, including 19911993, 2008 and 2009 when five teams were ranked.

• SEC leads all Division I conferences in NCAA Individualtitles with 79.

• Georgia leads all Division I schools in NCAA Individualtitles with 39.

• The SEC was awarded 25 first team All-American hon-ors in 2011.
