Last WeekSnow Days and the Ohio Tech Conference wreaked havoc on our schedule. I’m hoping we’ll be able to get back on track and keep moving ahead soon!
We did practice converting fractions to decimals and we began our first CAPs Project. These are projects that allow students to demonstrate their knowledge of the same skills at their individual levels. Mrs. Chilson and I are there to help when needed.
I also began posting notes, hints, and answers to homework assignments on the website. Students are given class time once per week and recess time once per week to check the website.

A Weekly Newsletter February 7-11
This WeekThis week we will finish our CAP project and work on adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. It is important for students to realize that the denominators MUST BE THE SAME before we can add or subtract. To make them the same, we must use an equivalent of 1 (1/1, 2/2 etc) to create an equivalent fraction with the desired denominator. We will also be putting decimals and fractions on a number line and practicing how to round fractions to the nearest half.
Other NotesWEBPAGE UPDATE - I am continually adding resources and details on the website. I understand that not everyone has access to the internet regularly, but for those of you who do, I encourage you to visit the Math Hub on a daily basis. Recently I have added: • A Detailed Calendar• Games & Websites• Extra Credit Options, and more.
I also encourage you to communicate with me via email on a regular basis concerning math class :)
