Week 8 – Grade 1 Orange Level 5/4-5/11 1. Sight Words: Continue adding to your sight word bank! You should now have at least 10 new words that you’re practicing how to read and spell. If you have not started, this is a great week to start! Use the sight word list attached (was uploaded for week 3). Pick 3 sight words to practice spelling. Send Mrs. Wescott a picture that shows how you’ve been practicing (writing in fun ways, typing, building with magnets, etc.) 2. Regular Word Flashcards – You should now be practicing words with ng/nk glued sounds (bank, song, rink, etc.), words with “l blends” (flip, blush, clam, etc.) and now words with “r blends” (grip, drip, brush, etc.). In previous weeks, I have posted word cards and word lists to help you with this organization. Let me know if you need assistance! 3. Review the ng/nk glued sounds in preparation for this week’s passage. (see page 2) 4. Read Fran’s Swing a. Read the story out loud at least 3 times this week. b. Complete the Cloze page (fill in the blanks) c. Complete the questions d. Send a picture of completed work to Mrs. Wescott

Week 8 – Grade 1 Orange Level 5/4-5/11

1.   Sight Words: Continue adding to your sight word bank! You should now have at least 10 new words that you’re practicing how to read and spell. If you have not started, this is a great week to start! Use the sight word list attached (was uploaded for week 3).

Pick 3 sight words to practice spelling. Send Mrs. Wescott a

picture that shows how you’ve been practicing (writing in fun ways, typing, building with magnets, etc.)
