Page 1 DARTON COLLEGE 1st May 2015 Issue 3 Unlocking potential ….Changing lives Principal’s News I’m not sure if it’s just my age but every week seems to be passing quicker here at DC, I cannot believe that we are already half way through the first Summer half-term. We have been busy reviewing the feedback from the parental questionnaire this week and hope to communicate some of our responses before the half-term break. Communication has been a key issue and as some of you may have already seen from the emails sent we have purchased the schoolcomms online reporting feature. This is already in use for paying for trips but we hope to centralise all payments through this online service soon. The App also allows you to access learner information such as behaviour, achievement points and attendance. You will also be able to notify us of when your child is absent from school or if they have a medical appointment. We have also encouraged learners, starting with Year 10 to download the App as they are also able to access their timetable. This is by no means the whole solution but it is a positive start. There has been some fantastic learning in school this week and I have been busy putting learners and their work on our ethic of excellence blog - the standard of work that some of our Year 7 and 8 learners are routinely producing is fantastic - if you haven’t seen it take a look! http://dartoncollege.co.uk/ category/excellence/ Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend!
