It was great to start working with our newly appointed Pedagogy Leaders! These staff members will be working alongside Mr Portman and I to continue to develop the quality of teaching across the school. Our first breakfast meeting focused on the importance of developing school cultures that were firmly based on sound and shared values - they are a great bunch! Mr Woodcock our newly appointed Vice Principal also spent a full day in school on Thursday. Together with myself and Mr Portman we started to develop our structure and identify the key priorities for September. It was a really productive day and I am confident that Mr Woodcock will be a real asset to the Leadership Team, he will be joining us in school for two days a week after Spring Bank and will take up his full time post in September. It was great to get out into the community this week visiting a number of parents and discussing the issue of litter. Our Student Voice Learners have planned and organised a community litter pick for Wednesday 20th May. I am also looking forward to being able to visit our feeder Primary Schools as we begin our transition work - good luck to all of the Year 6 Learners who sit their SATs tests next week! Year 11’s have started their GCSEs in earnest with Art and Graphics exams this week - they continue to impress us all with their focus and commitment! Brilliant! Thank you to all the parents that attended the meeting for the forthcoming Year 9 trip to Belgium - not long now!
