Department: Communications Subject: Live Streaming-Chief & Council Meetings Date prepared: 01/20/16 Fort William First Nation Registered Band Members now have the capacity to view FWFN Chief and Council meetings live on www.fwfn.com effective, Wednesday January 27, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. In order to start this process, there are a couple steps that need to be taken first.

1. Go to www.fwfn.com , click on the yellow BROADCASTS link at the top of the home page. 2. You will need to create an account to access this Member ONLY porthole. Click on New User. 3. Fill out the New User Registration page including your Status Card Number. The registrations are held

for approval by the Communications Officer. 4. Once you have been approved for access, follow the same process as Step 1. 5. Then enter your user name and password, you will be redirected to the BROADCASTS page where you

will find the current Council Agenda (posted prior to the meeting) and the Live Stream viewer. 6. Council will begin live streaming at 5:30 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) on the scheduled date of the

Council Meeting. Please note: Submission of your Status Card # is ONLY needed for the initial sign up registration process and is not required for any subsequent log in. All information is kept confidential and secured and is removed from the system once verified by the Communications Officer. Contract  Title:         Accountant  for  Proposal  Reviews    Contract  Description:   An  Accountant  is  needed  to  review  financial  statement  of  

prospective  economic  development  projects.    This  review  will  be  completed  to  determine  their  financial  viability.    The  primary  category  of  proposal  the  Accountant  will  be  responsible  for  is  economic  development.  

 Major  Responsibilities:  • The  Accountant  facilitates  the  financial  review  of  proposals  for  economic  development  

opportunities  that  will  benefit  the  community;  • Make  recommendation  of  proposals  to  Director  of  Economic  Development.    • Provides  timely  advice  and  information  on  economic  development  proposals,  

requirements,  and  procedures;    • Handles  confidential  financial  records  and  grant  materials  with  great  discretion;    Qualifications:  • Undergraduate  or  graduate  degree  in  accounting  required;      • Chartered  Professional  Accountant  designation  preferred;      • Five  (5)  years  of  experience  at  a  senior-­‐level  finance  or  accounting  position.  • Knowledge  of  finance,  accounting,  budgeting,  and  cost  control  principles  including  

Generally  Accepted  Accounting  Principles.  • Extensive  knowledge  of  contract  development,  proposal  development,  and  

assessment  or  evaluation  methodology.        Compensation:                 Will  be  negotiated.          Closing  Date:   Applications  must  be  received  by  4pm  on  Friday,  February  12th,  2016.

Position Title: Student Nutrition Coordinator Part-time Position, 10-20 hours per week

Contract ending July 8th, 2016 Position Description: The Education Department is looking to hire a community

member as the Student Nutrition Coordinator. This position’s duties includes: keeping work areas clean; packing nutritionally approved snacks; distribution of snack bags; registrations of student for program; monitoring and facilitation of food distribution; menu planning; ordering or purchasing food; preparing snacks for three sites. The successful candidate will work to build and support the student nutrition program in Fort William First Nation.

Major Responsibilities: • Works with the Education Manager to identify “start-up” needs and arrange for delivery. • Develop registration form for parents to identify food allergies. • Prepares food for cooking by washing, peeling, shredding, slicing, and mixing various

food items. • Possesses ability to work well in teams, familiarity with proper nutrition and Canada food

group, and special dietary needs. • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. • Prepare monthly menus for students. • Keeps within the established budget for food purchase. • Communicate and forward monthly plan to manager one week before the end of each

month. • Order and purchase food products as per the menu plan. • A full job description is available upon request. Qualifications: • The successful applicant must undergo a criminal records check, a pre-employment drug

testing. • Safe food handling course (training will be provided). Wage Rate: $13.00 per hour Closing Date: Applications, consisting of a cover letter and resume with three (3)

                             March Break Activities • All  children  must  be  signed  up  before  the  registration  deadline  –  this  is  necessary  for  us  in  our  planning  and  transportation  arrangements  

• Please  ensure  all  information  is  up  to  date  on  the  registration  forms      i.e.  correct  emergency  contact  numbers  if  an  emergency  situation  should  arise  –  we  need  to  be  able  to  contact  someone  immediately  

• Children  10  and  under  must  have  parental  supervision/Guardian  18+      at  all  activities  scheduled  No  Exceptions  

• Transport  times  are  an  approximate  time  frame  –  A  bus  will  go  around  to  each  location  –  if  your  child  (10  and  under  parental  supervision)  is  waiting  at  the  end  of  the  driveway,  the  bus  driver  will    pick  you  and  your  child  up  –  they  will  not  wait  at  homes  for  people  

• We  will  provide  a  light  snack  at  all  the  daily  scheduled  activities  • Please  ensure  you  and  your  child  are  dressed  appropriately  for  the  weather  –  some  activities  are  outside  and  it  is  the  responsibility  of  children  to  ensure  proper  clothing  

• Please  try  and  leave  digital  devices  home  as  we  are  not  responsible  for  lost  or  stolen  items  

• Please,  let’s  try  to  keep  our  week  smoke  free  for  the  children  • Depending  on  weather  and  registration,  some  activities  may  change  –  we  will  keep  parents  posted  if  this  happens.    All  activities  subject  to  change.  

• We  are  only  able  to  allow  one  parent  at  activities  unless  driving  on  own
