WHAT IS A TOOL? A tool is:
an instrument used for doing work Instructional tools help your students do meaningful work
A tool should not be: The focal point of an activity
E.g. Use of scientific calculator What drives you to choose what to do
Should be based on the standards and students’ needs
A tool meets the needs of a context to complete specific tasks
