On Easter Sunday we celebrate the resurrecon of the Lord. As disciples of Jesus, this day provides an occasion for each of us to embrace our new lives in Christ. Mary Magdalene showed us the importance of this new lifewhen she visited Jesustomb in the early morning. She knew Jesus was the one who would provide new life but when she went back to the tomb on that Easter Sun- day morning, to her dismay, she did not find Jesusbody. The empty tomb only served to deepen her sor- row. The apostles were also greatly dismayed to discover his body was missing and that only his linen burial cloths remained in the tomb. Like Mary, they felt a deep sense of loss as Jesus had been their friend and mentor. But life was not to be found in the tomb. Early on, Mary Magdalene and the apostles were unaware of the new lifeprovided by Jesusdeath and resurrecon. Howev- er, they soon learned of Gods generous and abundant giſt to humankind. Make no mistake, Jesus is the resurrecon and the life. The new life Jesus brings is present among us and in our hearts. The resurrected power of Christ's life and love is always with those who open their hearts to the Lord. He leads and urges us to believe that He is the risen one. Jesusdeath and resurrecon is of course central to our Chrisan faith. Without Jesus, our world is an empty tomb. But with the resurrected Jesus we are a born anew. And because of Jesus the human story is no long- er just one of birth, life and death. It is about birth, life, death and eternal life. Easter not only provides a happy ending to Jesus' story. It is, rather, the story of a radical new beginning for God's people. In the light of Christ's resurrecon, our future journey is clear, as are the giſts of an eternal life. For those who believe, the risen Lord brings us back to life with Him. Easter opens our eyes to the hope of eternal life provid- ed by Jesusdeath and resurrecon and passed on to us at bapsm. Our faith in God the Father will save us. Easter is indeed the story that lives forever and brings joy to the Chrisan spirit. So, let us turn our eyes to the Lord who has given us the hope of ever lasng life. Happy Easter and God bless you. Redempt Jawa CSsR© Redemptorists 2017 Welcome everyone! FIRST READING ACTS 10:34. 37-43

Peter addressed Cornelius and his household: ‘You must have heard about the recent happenings in Judaea; about Jesus of Nazareth and how he began in Galilee, after John had been preaching baptism. SECOND READING COL 3:1-4

Since you have been brought back to true life with Christ, you must look for the things that are in heav-en, where Christ is, sitting at God’s right hand. Let your thoughts be on heavenly things, not on the things that are on the earth, because you have died, and now the life you have is hidden with Christ in God. But when Christ is revealed – and he is your life – you too will be revealed in all your glory with him.

EASTER SUNDAY —YEAR A 16TH APRIL 2017

The ‘forever’ story

Jesus has risen, alleluia! On Easter Sunday we celebrate the resurrection of the Lord. As disciples of Jesus, this day provides an occasion for each of us to embrace our new lives in Christ.

Mary Magdalene showed us the importance of this ‘new life’ when she visited Jesus’ tomb in the early morning. She knew Jesus was the one who would provide new life but when she went back to the tomb on that Easter Sun-day morning, to her dismay, she did not find Jesus’ body. The empty tomb only served to deepen her sor-row.

The apostles were also greatly dismayed to discover his body was missing and that only his linen burial cloths remained in the tomb. Like Mary, they felt a deep sense of loss as Jesus had been their friend and mentor. But life was not to be found in the tomb. Early on, Mary Magdalene and the apostles were unaware of the ‘new life’ provided by Jesus’ death and resurrection. Howev-er, they soon learned of God’s generous and abundant gift to humankind.

Make no mistake, Jesus is the resurrection and the life. The new life Jesus brings is present among us and in our hearts. The resurrected power of Christ's life and love is always with those who open their hearts to the Lord. He leads and urges us to believe that He is the risen one.

Jesus’ death and resurrection is of course central to our Christian faith. Without Jesus, our world is an empty tomb. But with the resurrected Jesus we are a born anew. And because of Jesus the human story is no long-er just one of birth, life and death. It is about birth, life, death and eternal life. Easter not only provides a happy ending to Jesus' story. It is, rather, the story of a radical new beginning for God's people.

In the light of Christ's resurrection, our future journey is clear, as are the gifts of an eternal life. For those who believe, the risen Lord brings us back to life with Him. Easter opens our eyes to the hope of eternal life provid-ed by Jesus’ death and resurrection and passed on to us at baptism. Our faith in God the Father will save us. Easter is indeed the story that lives forever and brings joy to the Christian spirit. So, let us turn our eyes to the Lord who has given us the hope of ever lasting life.

Happy Easter and God bless you.

BE Weekend 5th-7th May 2017

The Beginning Experience (BE) Ministry is now in its 35th year in Australia and has helped hundreds of people in the Lismore Diocese of the Catholic Church since its introduction to this area over 30 years ago. Whilst the program was designed for and by Catholics all faiths are welcome.

The basic criterion for a weekend is belief in God. The weekend is symbolic of Christ in His “life, death and resurrection” experience, participants and team grad-ually working through their grief with the focus on rising to a new life in Christ, to be able to love self, others and God. Clergy are most welcome and are involved - reconciliation, forgiveness and forgiving are relevant and personal healing is evident. So often it is through the clergy and parishioners spreading the parish bulletin news, that the notification of the BE weekend reaches the estranged and wounded. At the weekend trained team members – who themselves are widowed, separated or divorced – give personal experience presentation which are followed by pri-vate reflection time and small group sharing.

For more info, please call 6624 1549
