This Sunday:! Reflections on Lughnasadh/LammasThe ancients experience and celebration of Life issuedout of the cyclic nature of Life, Death and Rebirth. Theposition of the sun in the sky and the status of the crop,all important to the community, was a time for the ritualceremony of hand-fasting and for games of strength andskill. How we can draw on the ancient wisdom andpractices of our ancestors and apply them to our livestoday will be explored by Reverend Audrey Bloom,LCSW with Worship Committee Coordinator ChrisKirchner.

Free Documentary ScreeningThe film profiles three south Florida families, including the story of along-time lesbian couple (Summary attached). WLRN will be premieringthe documentary August 25, and HealthState.org will be hosting outreachevents in Miami and Broward that will feature a pre-broadcast screeningof the film and filmmaker/subject panel. All are welcome to attend.

Reverend Drew has been onvacation since June 15th, andReverend Wendy does notofficially begin her work here

until August 1. Between thosedays please call the office to relayany pastoral needs. Susie willhave a list of nearby ministerswho are available and she willassist in making contact asneeded.

FINANCE MEETING NEWS

There will be no finance meetingheld on August 2, 2011. The nextmeeting will take place inSeptember 6, 2011.

Young Adult Group Happenings

Saturday, August 13th the YA group will head outfor an evening of art and culture, all are invited. Wecan meet at church to carpool at 7pm (I said 7:30pm,but that's when it starts). Summer HoursOur office hours have changed. We will be available Monday- Thursday from 10am-2pm and on Sundaysfrom 10:30-12:30pm. All calls & emails will be returned & addressed during office hours.
