CENSUS
Last Thursday was Census day. We currently have
1363 students across 60 classrooms. This is down
from 1367 at the same time in 2018. Census day
data plays a large part in the funding allocation
that schools receive.
SCHOOL PROJECTS
Our Maintenance team consisting of Neville and
Gerrard have been completing a number of excit-
ing projects across the school lately. We have had
both sandpits topped up, new cabinets set up across the school and fantastic new turf that has
been laid at the Epping Views Kinder. Check out
the green lawn next time you walk past!
KITCHEN GARDEN
Our newest specialist subject is Kitchen Garden, a
subject involving cooking, food preparation, grow-
ing natural foods and learning about restaurant
expectations. It has been a hit amongst many of
our students. Classes are held in our Kitchen Gar-den room and our Vegetable Garden as students
grow and then prepare different edible items. You
may have studied Home Economics or Food Tech
at school in the past and this subject provides
similar experiences for our children. Parents wish-
ing to volunteer as an assistant in this subject
would be most welcome. Helen, Leeanne and Ro-
sie can be contacted via the office.

PLEASE REMEMBER we are an ‘egg & nut free’ school: no eggs,
peanut butter, nuts or nutella spread to come to school at any
time. Please assist us to keep our students safe. Thank you.
Keep your hands and feet to yourself. Everyday Counts!

ABSENCE
Pauline is currently on leave, dealing with an
injured leg. We wish her well in her recovery. She
aims to return next week, however in the meantime I
am available to assist in an Acting Principal
Capacity. Please ask for me at the office if you need me.
LUNCHTIME CLUBS
Can I please ask that all parents discuss playtime options with their children. There are so many
options available to our students and these options
are important if your child is feeling uneasy in the
yard or if their best friend is absent. On yard duty
today I saw children on play equipment, in the sand-
pit, sitting in quiet areas, at the canteen, playing
ball games and feeding the chickens. In addition to
all these options we have lunchtime clubs such as
Soccer Club, Drawing Club, Lego Construction, and
Board Games. Students have so much choice at
Epping Views and we want them to be aware of what
is available.
OFFICE HOURS
Just a reminder that our office hours are as follows:
Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:15pm
Also the Uniform Shop is open every Monday,
Wednesday and Friday. On Thursday mornings we
have an Arabic speaking staff member available
from 9am until 12pm for your convenience.
