REMINDERSince July 2003,
all the weighing instrumentsintended for use in
potentially explosiveatmospheres must comply
with Directive 94/9/ECcommonly referred to as the
ATEX Directive.
The Directive applies to theequipment and protective
systems intended for use inpotentially explosive
atmospheres.
Directive 99/92/EC dealingwith the protection ofworkers at risk frompotentially explosive
atmosphere complementsDirective 94/9/EC.

I 200 Ex weighing terminals can be installed in hazardous area whose risks are related to thepresence of gas (zones 0, 1 or 2) or dusts (zones 20, 21 or 22).Depending on your installation or running constraints, I 200 Ex weighing terminals can be supplied by:
an intrinsically safe power supply out of potentiallyexplosive zone
a power supply in potentially explosive zone near the scale a rechargeable battery
Options : RS 232 data output
or RS 422 data output out of hazardous area output towards Ex load slave display second weighing channel (consult us) Data Storage Device (DSD) of 48,000 records – Time-stamping
I 200 BThe I 200 B is suitable for simple weighing applications.Whatever the circumstances are, the indication is easy to readon the 25,4 mm backlight display. This is quite unique for instrumentsused in potentially explosive zones.
I 200 MMultifunction display and digital keyboardallowing tare entry and product or batch identification.

The I400 Ex system is composed of 2 ranges to allow a really suitable answer,in terms of costs and performances, to the weighing and process problemsin ATEX zones. With its architecture built around a Ex CAN Open field bus, the I400 Ex is mainlycomposed of a weight transmitter and a graphic terminal which can be installed directlyin hazardous area with the possibility to have up to 31 scale channels with only oneterminal. In the case of use by an PLC, a coupler installed in safe area, allows the adaptationto the main field bus of the market: ProfiBus DP, DeviceNet and Ethernet TCP/MODBUS.
I400 Ex Standard Range
The transmitters and the terminals can be installed directly in hazardous area whose risksare related to the presence of gas zones 1 and 2 and dusts zones 21 and 22.This range needs the use of a specific power-supply in zone as well as different isolatorsfor a use of information in safe area.

I400 Ex 2-21 Range
Developed specifically for risks whose are related to the presence of gas zone 2 and dustszones 21 and 22, this range presents the interest to use a standard power-supply, not toneed isolators to quit the hazardous area and to have more functionalities compared withthe Ex standard range.

We i g h b r i d g e s
All our weighbridges of analogue or digital technology can be installed in potentiallyexplosive zone.
Example of digital installation:
 ISIS 2 D 200 Ex ASL Ex
All our loadcells and platform scales can be connected in hazardous area to our Ex weighingterminals and also to all PRECIA-MOLEN transmitters and indicators transmitters installedout of hazardous area. The connection will be direct in hazardous area zones 2 or 21and through an intrinsically safe module if zone 1 or 21.

The G50 Ex terminal can be used to enter and display alphanumericdata in hazardous area zone 0 and 20.It ideally complements an PC or PLC installed in safe area when theoperator must intervene on the weighing process from thehazardous area.
DD220000 EExx
The D200 Ex repeater allows a remote display of the weighing information in hazardousarea. It can be connected directly to an I200 Ex or I400 Ex indicator installed in hazardous areaor to all PRECIA-MOLEN indicators installed in safe area through an intrinsically safemodule.

PRECIA-MOLEN Quality system is certified by the LCIE 03 ATEX Q 8010 LCIEfor the manufacture of the equipment in potentially explosive atmosphere zone.
Hoppe r s c a l e s
Following the serious disasters that happenedin hoppers, authorities have implementeda new ATEX regulation.
Since July 2006, each hopper must complywith the regulation in order to avoid any dust-relatedexplosion(in accordance with the Decree No.2002-1553).
Since 2004, our scales passed all the LCIE testssuccessfully and PRECIA MOLEN got the officialATEX certification whose risks are related to all typesof dusts in zone 20 inside the scale and in zone 22in its surrounding environment.
PRECIA-MOLEN is the only manufacturerof completely ATEX certified hopper scales to date.
