Christmas is right around the corner! Some of the Toy Store for Jesus volunteers are already serving at the Baptist Center calling parents who have been recommended, making shopping appoint-ments, and mailing reminder confirmation letters to them. This will be the 24th year our Association has sponsored this special ministry! Over 37,000 have received new toys and almost 3,000 decisions have been made for Jesus. In 2016, 621 local families with 1,647 children were helped. There were 83 decisions to accept Christ as their Savior, and another 14 made rededication decisions. There are lots of ways for you to be involved. The first way is to pray. Pray that God will bless this ministry, especially our guests who need Jesus in their lives, pray for our volunteers, and pray for resources (money, toys, candy, coats, and other winter wear). Volunteer: Go to www.toystoreforjesus.org to sign up now. There are lots of roles, dates, and times to choose to serve Him by serving others. Give: You may give financially, and volunteers will shop for you, OR you may give new toys. Toys with a retail value of $5.00 to $15.00 is a good average. We also need smaller toys to be used as stocking stuffers. These items could be Happy Meal toys, school supplies, Dollar Store toys, etc. All should be NEW! Wrapped candy (please no Halloween paper wrapping) is also needed to use as stocking stuffers. New or almost new Christmas stockings are welcome. Coats and winter wear (gloves, mittens, knit caps, scarves): These items should be new or gently used. Coats and winter wear are offered to our guests and include adult sizes as well as infants and children’s sizes.
