B. Describe the Process of
Identification of LEP students [Based on the HLS, W-APT scores, and/or ACCESS for ELLs scores from other states]
Potential LEP students are identified based on HLS. If, for any of the questions on the HLS, the parent states a language other than English and if the ESL specialist reviewing the HLS determines the home language is other than English, the W-APT is administered.Parents receive a “letter of eligibility of ESL services” along with the W-APT scores.
