Welcome Amanda!
Amanda Engelken is our new Sum-
mer Youth Program Assistant! She
will be assisting with day camps and
all things fair related. Amanda is at-
tending Kaskaskia College and plans
to transfer to Iowa State University to
study Dairy Science. She is a former
Earlville Clever Clovers 4-H member,
and will be a great addition to our
team! If you have a question and I am
not in the office, check with her!
Reminder!! Each family is asked to furnish one 9” or 10” two crust fruit pie.
These should be brought in during your club shift in the 4-H Food Stand during
the fair. No 8” pies. No cream, custard, or pumpkin pies are accepted. There
is NO refrigerated display space. Food safety first!

ALL Fair Projects MUST be entered in FairEntry by July 1st! For the 2019 Delaware County Fair, ALL projects (livestock and non-livestock) MUST be entered into their respective classes in
FairEntry by July 1st. To enter your projects into classes go to delcoia.fairentry.com and log in with your 4honline email and

FairEntry Help Night!
On Monday, June 17th there will be FairEntry Help Night for 4-H families. Stop by or call the Extension Office between 4:30-6:30
p.m. and Kenzie will help you enter your projects for Fair and answer any questions!
Below is more specific information, please read carefully!!
Conference Judging Information:
All Conference Exhibit Projects must be entered into their
respective classes in FairEntry by July 1st. You will need to
create an entry for each project you are exhibiting. This in-
cludes the following departments:
Animals, Agriculture, & Natural Resources, Creative
Arts, Family & Consumer Sciences, Personal Develop-
ment, Science, Engineering, & Technology, Kits &
Crafts, and 4-Hers in Action.
Remember to complete a goal sheet for each conference
project and bring it to judging on Monday, July 9th. Goal
sheets and other forms can be found online at this link: http://

Exhibit Tags will be printed by the Extension Office and given
to you the day of judging!
Club Booth Decorating at Fair! The booth themes for 2019 are “Shaking It Up!” or “A Universe of Possibilities”. A booth for each of the 4-H
clubs will be located around the perimeter of the Exhibit Pavilion. They are 6 feet deep and 6 feet wide with
pegboard backs and sides. Each space will have a table
in the back with possibly a bench for additional display
area. Very large exhibits, State Fair exhibits, Considered
for State Fair exhibits, and Junior Outstanding exhibits
will be displayed together in special areas.
Get Creative!! The booths will be judged for the best
decorated booth with the winners receiving an ice cream
party.
Livestock Exhibitors: All livestock that was Id’d in 4honline by May 15th, must be en-
tered in classes in FairEntry by July 1st. This includes the follow-
ing livestock projects:
Beef (Market, Breeding, Bred & Raised, Pen of 3, and Cow-
Calf), Dairy (Cattle & Goats), Dog, Horse, Meat Goat, Pet,
Poultry, Rabbit, Sheep, and Swine.
Livestock Exhibitors will still need to complete a Check-in form
and Drug Affidavit (for market animals) to turn into show superin-
tendents when they arrive and unload at the fair! If you have any

Beef Exhibitor Project Meeting! A meeting for ALL Beef exhibitors for the Fair will be held
on Tuesday, July 2, at 6:00 p.m. in the Showring at the
Fairgrounds.
If you are exhibiting breeding beef, market beef, bred &
raised, cow/calf, or pen of 3, please plan to attend this
meeting! You will receive all of the
necessary paperwork you need for
the fair.
If you are unable to attend please
contact Kenzie.
Swine Exhibitor
Project Meeting!
There will be an informational
meeting held on Tuesday, July 2,
at 6:30 p.m. in the Showring at the Fairgrounds.
Please plan to attend this meeting if you are ex-
hibiting Swine at the Fair! You will receive all of
the paperwork you need for the fair as well as re-
view rules and information for the swine show.

Upcoming Horse Project Meetings
All exhibitors should attend at least TWO meetings/clinics before Fair. All first and second year county fair exhibitors must attend at
least ONE safety meeting to be eligible to participate in the Horse Show at the Delaware County Fair. Anyone unable to attend or
has any questions needs to contact the Extension Office.

LIVESTOCK ENTRIES
4-H Livestock entries are due by July 1st in FairEntry. To
enter your livestock for the State Fair, go to: https://

State Fair premium books are available online only. If you do
not have access to the internet, contact Kenzie to print a copy
for you.

Charge Accounts for the 4-H Foodstand The 4-H Food Stand Committee will continue the privilege of applying for a charge account at the fair.
Charge accounts are available for 4-H/FFA members and their families and volunteers.
Parents, or the responsible adult, who will be paying the account must complete the application at the Delaware County Extension
Office in person. At that time, they must list all persons who will be able to charge on that account.
The charge account must be set up by June 28th. No accounts will be set up at the county fair.
If foodstand bills are not paid in full by August 31, 2019, a $2.00 charge per month will be added. Foodstand
bills must be paid in full by November 1, 2019 or the charge account will not be approved next year.
The list of approved charge accounts will be displayed inside the food stand.

Fair King & Queen Applications!
The Delaware County Fair is seeking male and female contestants to participate in the Delaware
County Fair King and Queen Contest. This contest is open to anyone age 16-21, residing in Delaware County. Applica-
tions are due Monday, June 17th!
The contest will take place on Wednesday, June 26th at the Delaware County Community Center, and participants are
encouraged to attend a candidate workshop to be held on Monday, June 17th for assistance with contest materials.
Candidates are also welcome to contact Brittney Carroll, Royalty Contest Director, for help with any part of the contest.

The Delaware County 4-H Foundation is looking for
clubs to donate items for their silent auction at the
fair. These may be themed around 4-H, sports,
hobbies or really anything.

Last YQCA Training on June 14th!!
The last YQCA Instructor Led Training will be on June
14th from 10:30-noon. at the Extension Office.
You must pre-register online at https://
yqca.learngrow.io/Account/Login The cost of the In-
structor Led Training is $3. With the generous support
of the 4-H Foodstand, youth can attend the training for
free by using a coupon code. To utilize this, call the
Extension Office to get a coupon code BEFORE you
pre-register.
Youth MUST be YQCA certified by July 1st, 2019 or
they will NOT be able to exhibit projects in the fol-
lowing categories: Beef, Swine, Dairy (cattle &
goat), Sheep, Poultry, Meat Goat, and Rabbit.
