Attention High School and College Students!!!

Over the summer, we are having a summer study for college and high school aged students beginning on Sunday, June 14th! We will be studying the book, The Prodigal God by Timothy Keller. In this 7-week study, we will follow Keller’s approach to understanding Christianity through Jesus’ most familiar parable, while applying this message to our own lives as young adults in the church. This study will be facilitated by Hannah Johnson at the Johnson home (6307 Nikki Lane 33625) Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm June 14 – August 9 (will not meet June 21 or August 2). NEW YOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES BEGINNING TODAY

Middle School - Seeking a King Taught by Randy Johnson & Jamie Dalton This is a Great Commission Publications curriculum which takes a look at Israel's history from the period of the Judges to king Solomon. It teaches us that Jesus is the true, perfect and only king we need. All of Israel's failures and successes point to our need to Jesus. Come and journey through some great Old Testament books this summer as they provide a feast for your soul. High School - Prayer: Theology on our Knees Taught by Danny Dalton & Steve Pothoven

Seminary professor John Frame’s definition of theology states, “Theology is application of Scripture to all of life.” He is saying that, we can have knowledge of doctrines that impress others, but if these doctrines do not affect the way you live, then you really don’t “know” them. In the same way, what good is talking about prayer, teaching about prayer and learning about prayer if we don’t actually PRAY?! The goal of this class is to develop a theology of prayer by actually spending time praying! Come, do theology on your knees. Let’s learn the language of worship, dependence, and guilt. We will explore the arts of contemplation, meditation, individual prayer, group prayer, and prayer guided by Scripture.

Walden Class - Study of Hebrews Room 108 Teacher: Jay Fontanini

The Walden Class, which will continue its study of the book of Hebrews, offers a combination of Bible study and social interaction, as participants share their lives with one another through prayer requests, praise reports, brief devotionals, and a thirty-minute Bible lesson each Sunday. The class offers a greater degree of flexibility for those desiring to engage in a study of a particular book of the Bible, which may exceed the quarterly limitations of other classes, e.g. a four or five month study through The Gospel of Matthew or the book of Revelation, etc. This relaxing pace of the Walden Class allows for a comprehensive study of Sacred Scripture in the context of thoughtful dialog, question and answer, and practical application of God's Word.
