Creative Writing Day!

• Think about yourself as a writer. What are you good at (vocabulary, grammar, spelling, being creative, etc.)? What are your weak points? Why do you think they are weak points and how can you overcome them?

• Tell what you just thought about yourself to your partner. Be ready to share!

• Grab a self-assessment worksheetfrom the front & fill it out – be honest!

Let’s Get Creative!

• Today we are going to work on being better creative writers. We’ll write a story step-by-step, and then help each other edit.

• The story you will write is called: “False Charge – A Detailed Account of a

Dangerous Situation”

Self - Editing

• When the writing time is up, make sure that you review the self-editing checklist to catch your mistakes!

Final Edit

• Use your partner’s suggestions to rewrite your paper. Make it great & turn it in!
