WELCOME!
We’re going to have a Wonderful year together. Have Positive Expectations! The Procedures we learn today will help us
create a Highly Efficient and Orderly Classroom. A little about me
Arrival to Class
When you arrive at our class, I will greet you in the hallway.
When you enter the classroom please be seated at your assigned group.
Prepare yourself for the class.
Desk Procedures
Only your notebook, textbooks, reading books and supply box belongs on the table. Keep your bag packs behind the chair or under the desk.
Food and electronic devices of any kind DO NOT belong on the table.
No food, gum or candy are allow in the room, water bottles may be keep on the floor.
When Class Begins (Bell)
The bell ringing is a procedure to tell you that it is time to begin class.
At the bell, you are to begin your warm-up exercise (bell ringer).
Expectations During Instruction
Please give the teacher your full attention. Do not talk while the teacher is talking. Please wait to be recognized by the teacher
before you begin speaking.
General Classroom Expectations
Respect others personal space including not touching others.
Be respectful of everyone and everything. Allow others to finish speaking before you
start speaking. NO Bullying or use of profanity or rude words is
allow. Sarcasm, double meaning words, and talking
back will not be allow.
Expectations During work
You will be working in groups most of the time.
Be kind and courteous at all times. Use your words not your hands. Always report rude or bad behavior to your
teacher, avoid taking matter in your hands.
Prompts
If I raise my hand, you are to stop talking, face me, and also raise your hand until everyone in the classroom has stopped talking and I lower my hand.
NO EXCEPTIONS
Restroom Procedures
Only one person per pass Restroom is around the corner, 5-7 minutes
max. Remember to wash your hands Come right back and enter QUIETLY
Behavior Discipline Procedures
1st Offense - Verbal Warning 2nd Offense - Detention and Parent contact 3rd Offense – Detention and Parent contact 4th Offense - Office Referral If you missed a detention, a second detention will be
written. Missing two detentions will be a cause for referral.
Profanity, fighting, confrontation, damaging school property is a cause for immediate referral.
School Rules and Policies
All school rules as outlined in your student handbook will be enforced.
Attendance policy will be as defined in your student handbook.
No Cell phone Zone
Cell phone must be turn off and place inside your bag pack or purse.
Turning the cell phone to silent or vibrate is Turning the cell phone to silent or vibrate is not acceptable.not acceptable.
Buy yourself a watch to tell time If there is a family emergency, please inform
the facilitator before turning on or using your cell phone.
Tardy to class Procedures
Tardy with pass - (administrator, counselor or tardy center) please sign the tardy log and place the pass in the basket (make sure the pass has your full name and period)
Tardy no pass – sign the tardy log and wait at the end of the period to sign your detention (third time unexcused tardy to class will get a call to parent after that a referral will be written)

Definitely no visits to coaches, teachers or P E field, I will not accept passes from them unless they personally walk you back to class.
Selling tickets, food or going to buy or pay for something is not an excuse to be late.

Check the mater website….all materials are due by 09/04/15 for a grade

Uniform Policy
Follow Mater Academy uniform policy at all times. Check yourself before entering the classroom.

Grade book
Both students and parent/guardian must have access to the grade book
If you forgot your password or need help setting up your student account, please fill out a form at the library to see Mrs. Anne Infante

Substitute Procedures
Respect Substitute’s Directions and Rules, even if they are not exactly the same as ours.
Remember Substitute is taking my place and is an equal of mine.
Be as helpful as possible Substitute has all the procedures. Keep all supplies in their proper storage areas.
End of Class Dismissal
I will inform you when it is time for class dismissal.
I dismiss you not the bell Clean up the area around your and please
keep your bag pack on top of your desk I will then give you permission to leave the
classroom.
