1.CHOICESIT'S ALL ABOUT CHOICE IN GPISD! KALEIDOSCOPE | Schools & Programs of Choice

Grand Prairie ISD educates more than 29,000 students each year in 41 campuses with over 40 languages spoken by our student population.

As an open-enrollment district, GPISD invites students from across the Metroplex to attend any school for free. Students living within GPISD attendance zones also have the freedom to apply to any school along with the added benefit of free district transportation.

With nearly half of all GPISD schools (Pre-K through 12) being Schools of CHOICE and the majority of the award-winning traditional schools offering a multitude of unique CHOICE programs, the educational opportunities are boundless for students.

With the unique freedom to select an educational path tailored to suit the interest of the individual child, students are more engaged and accomplished at a much younger age. As early as Pre-K, students may begin to align their educational experience through schools of choice to coincide with the focused pathways including:

Communication is Key to Together Achieve Success !

¡Comunicación es la clave para obtener el éxito juntos!

Your family circumstances do not define you or what you can do in life! Communication is vital for success to happen! It is important to listen to parents and students. Parents want to

know about safety, expectations-academics, college readiness, community resoureces, dress, discipline and homework, etc.

About Grand Prairie ISD LEAP (Learning Elevated for All Parents)

located at GPISD Family Service CenterWe can be and go anywhere to serve parents

and families.

LEAP (Learning Elevated for All Parents) formerly known as the Parent Involvement or PIC, is located at 2341 S. Beltline Rd. Grand Prairie, Texas 75052

LEAP is designed to involve the total family in the educational process. A child, whose parents are involved in their education, is generally a child who succeeds in school.

Staff includes a Director of Parent & Community Engagement, 16 Family Engagement Liaisons, FEAT Leaders and FEAT Liaisons

Research shows that parents who are more focused on their children's education make a huge difference in a student's achievement, attendance and behavior.

Reflection:

Who are your hard to reach students/parents/families? What have you tried that has worked? What do you want to do differently? What are you doing to reach out to them?Have you had to adjust and modify activities at the campus and or district level? How do you address barriers for all your students to access virtual learning if this is choice they decide as a family instead of in person learning?
