Our goal tonight is to help you and your child select the combination of courses that strikes a balance of both challenge & support. We hope this will be an important step towards a successful transition to high school

Extended Algebra
● This course is intended to support the new topics taught in Algebra, while embedding necessary prerequisite skills previously missed by the learner.
Pre Algebra
This double period course is designed to get students ready for 211 Algebra. Students entering this course are expected to take college prep Algebra their sophomore year.
Math Support Classes
Students may “bump-up” to the next level if they:
■ Attend a 1-credit (pass/fail) summer bump-up class.
■ Pass the class with an 80% or higher and
■ Receive a “bump-up” recommendation by the
summer school teacher.More info on this in summer school section of this presentation :)

● All students complete a research project related to, but beyond a traditional course curriculum.
● Students present their work at our year-end symposium.
● Honors credit earned by attaining a B or above on both the research project and overall class grade.

● Correspondence classes – We do not officially sponsor these classes. They are offered through online schools. Please contact your counselor for paperwork to seek approval for online classes. Must find an outside proctor.
● Computer Proficiency Test – offered four times a year.

● Summer School will be a full 24-day session● Registration Feb. 24, 6:00 pm - Feb 28, 11:59 pm● June 8th - July 16th (July 17 possible make up date)
● Period 1: 8:00 am - 10:15 am● Period 2: 10:25 am - 12:40 pm● Period 3: 12:50 pm - 3:05 pm
● June 2 & 4: photo ID, chromebook, materials● Summer School 2020 catalog available tonight
● Families that qualify for free or reduced lunch are eligible for a waiver of academic summer school fees please reach out to Linda Hayes x3504 and Margaret Collins x3121 for help

SUMMER SCHOOL 2020
*FOR INCOMING FRESHMEN desiring to take Art Foundations*
● After current OPRF students register for the summer school art foundations course, any remaining seats will be filled by incoming freshmen via a randomized enrollment process.
● Survey will open January 21st and close on February 5th. You will be informed of the results on February 21st.
